Deathloop - from the people behind Dishonored and Prey

Lol, I went back to have one last go for the day and aced it, no deaths at all but I almost copped it on the way back by being to greedy for residuum. :D :D :D

Nice. The enemies do tear you apart pretty quickly if you get caught in an open firefight. I spend an awful lot of time running around corners and turning invisible (or shifting the hell out of Dodge) when my stealting goes south. I am not the graceful, silent assassin I was hoping to be.

But then nexusing whole groups together is so useful too. It's difficult to know which two slabs to take a lot of the time.

I am down to the final few leads to complete, but still no idea how I am going to manage to do everything in one loop...

Having much more fun with this game than I thoguht I would. I haven't really got into looping games before, but it's managed really well in this one, I think.

This is my third playthrough and generally I am pretty useless and gaming even though I have been doing it for years. That said I think I managed to break the loop on my second try so not as bad as I was expecting.

Dang. I thought I was just about to move to the final loop, but it turns out I have a bit more toing and froing to get someone else to move form their start point. Looks like a few differnt locatoins are going to be needed to. I seem to be taking the long way around a lot of this game. At least I can see the final loop strategy taking shape now, though.

I posted this previously, you might find it helpful.

Cheers.

I am trying to avoid guides for now, as it's quite satifsying seeing the links fall into place. But I may need something to jog my memory for the final loop as I've been working on so many different leads I think I may have lost track of a couple of things. There are one or two things I am not 100% sure whether I need to do them every loop or whether once is enough, so I may need to double-check for the final run.

The only really annoying thing is it looks like my current lead takes me back to Charlie's Space Invader game, which is probably my least favourite part to have to repeat. I had thought I was done with that after getting all his slab upgrades and unlocking his secret...

Really?

One of my leads for getting Wenjie to go to the party is to go to 2-Bit. I thought its main console was in Charlie's castle?

Is that not a necessary step?
Ah, right I think I've given you a bit of a bum steer.

Yes, that's necessary but I'm pretty sure you only need to do that the once. There are eight stories that you need to complete and that's one of them. Once you've completed the eight stories then the final story is revealed and that allows you to break the loop.

Have you accessed all the tunnels that require a password? I think it's the "radio silence" story?

Ah well, I didn't get my hopes up too much :p

Yep, pretty sure I have done everything else. All other leads are showing complete. I just didn't didn't expect these stages of the current one to go where they are leading me to.

Did you get the doll from the library and give it to 2-Bit so that he can clone the voice?
No, not yet. I think that might be the next step. I can guess where it's looking like going, and it does imply I will need to
imitate Alexis somehow, but first I need to go back to 2-Bit to uncover the next objective. I think, anyway.

I must say I really like that this game is much less repetitive that I had thought it was going to be when I first heard about it. I had imagined a kind of repetitive, trial-and-error trying to maniuplate people around maps a bit like the assassination tasks in Dishonored and having to start all over again whilst keeping in mind possible strategies. It's a lot more structured than that, and it feels a good combination between linear progression that you don't lose between loops and figuring out different approaches as you go. If I'd known this, I would probably have tried it out sooner.

Don't worry about the final loop - there is literally one thing to do (which you will have already done) and kill 7 visionaries. I found it extraordinarily easy in the end.

I have been slightly dreading screwing up at the last minute and having to repeat the whole day, but I'm quite looking forward to it now. I have a pretty good loadout and only really die when I get too lazy and rush into situations without using powers properly (or when I walk into mines... so many deaths to mines!)

Yeah, those damn proximity mines. 9/10 I will never even hear or see them before I'm hurtled back 10 foot half dead.

Equip the mine hack trinket.
I have dozens of trinkets, I recycle loads of doubles every loop, even got plenty of gold rarity ones, and I swear I still have yet to see the mine hacking trinket I've heard about. I guess RNGesus just wants me to keep dying in explosions :(

Still, I don't think I need to go back to the map with the worst mine set-up again (including that one hidden in grass that blew me up every single damned time!)

I got the mine hack trinket on the second to last day but I loved the four I was using - hack from afar, turret strength, creep fast and an orange one that I can't remember - that I never tried half of the others.

Yeah, I am kind of stuck on my selection too - tutrle shell for reduced damage, creeping death for silent running, juiced up for extra energy and spring heeled for the double-jump. I am not sure I need the double jump with shift as well, but I'm so used to it it feels like something is missing if I take it out.

Silent LMP with lightning shot gives one-shot headhosts from across the map. With nexus it kills everyone in Dorsey Square in one hit a lot of the time. The slowing Strelak with mind leech kills Juliana in two seconds flat. And I have the explosive rifle but pretty much never use it since the other two are so powerful.

I also just leave a whole bunch of infused weapons and trinkets untouched in my inventory. Might have a play with some different ones once I finish.

So, yes, the final loop ended up being mostly straightfoward in the end, even if
I screwed up getting Wenjie and Egor in one shot and then Egor went invisible just as Juliana appeared, and I died. And only just got a lucky kill on them both on my next reprise, as they were both hiding in that little room near the edge of the roof and ripe for a shotty blast. Don't think Juliana or I knew Egor was in there too, but the Strelak's spread got them both at the same time :)

I really enjoyed that game. Much more than I thought I would when I just decided to give it go because it was on Game Pass. It did feel some parts of it could have been more developed, and I am really enthused to see what they do with the sequel (which I think I heard is at least strongly rumoured if not yet confirmed).
