Will that do? the yellow lines are rays of light, amazing, no? :)

Thanks.. Judging from your drawing I guess the angle is around 130 - 135 degree right? I hope it would go all the way down to 160 but it is a minor problem anyway.

Thanks again. :)

Hi mrk,

I have ordered a 13z but I cant for the life of me find where to download the drivers from on the Dell website. I swear I've looked through every model listed but cant find the 13z anywhere. Do you have a link to the 13z driver page?

Thanks

im thinking of buying on of thesse soonish, which model would you recommend?

the £529 looks alright with free shipping and save £90 before 30/12/09

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor ULV SU7300 (1.3GHz, 800MHz, 3MB) UMA GFX
3072MB 1067MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM [1x1024 + 1x2048]
320GB (7,200rpm) Serial ATA Hard Drive

I just gave my folks a 13z with GeForce 105 for xmas and after having a quick play with it yesterday, it's very good indeed - however I only went with that model as it was on offer, the base model would have done them and if you go with the Geforce graphics you have to have the bigger battery which raises the back of the laptop up slightly.

mrk has the model with Intel graphics and it performs very well. What will you be using it for?

I'm going to reload Windows 7 on my folks 13z as the Dell branded install is awful. I've got the drivers downloaded do I need to install any of the dell software to retain use of the function keys, power schemes etc? I’ve only downloaded the dell webcam software currently.

Yeah, you'll need to download the software from the Dell website to get everything working properly. Net result should be a much quicker system though, it's surprising what a difference a clean install makes even on a brand new machine.

Yeah I know what you mean, I can understand manufactures wanting to brand their machines but when you start adding stupid programs that use resources which effects performance it just becomes stupid. Anyway reloaded it with a clean install of Windows 7 HP, I had an issue with the Windows 7 DVD not being read correctly I applied the bios update and the firmware upgrade to the DVD-RW which fixed the problem.

After using it most of yesterday doing the reinstall, it’s a great laptop and my folks love it :)

oh which is this, mrk your a pain! dunno which to get

"inside the UL30Vt's brushed aluminium frame, users have a choice of ultra-low-voltage Intel processors - namely the 1.2GHz Intel Celeron SU2300 or the 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 - up to 4GB of DDR3 memory and a duo of GPU solutions in the form of an integrated Intel GMA X4500MHD chip and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce G210M graphics card.

What's useful is that users can switch between graphics solutions, so as to use the more power-hungry GeForce GPU only when necessary. Stick to the integrated Intel solution, and ASUS reckons the system will provide up to 12 hours of battery life."

"The system's screen measures 13.3in and provides a 1,366x768 resolution, and there's up to 500GB of storage via a 2.5in hard disk drive. Wireless N, Bluetooth and Ethernet connectivity come as standard, and there are a few useful extras too - including HDMI out, a four-in-one card reader, a built-in webcam, and three USB ports."

surely your not getting that one aswell? ha

which to get now

Loving this laptop now
