Looks like there are some posts on widescreen gaming forum about a new revision of the 2407 being released in Japan.
It appears to fix the blury text issue and might also fix the banding problem ( if the gradient pictures are to be believed ) :D

Original release

Revision -> A00
Physical Panel -> LTM240M2
Firmware -> V1B11

Updated release

Revision A00
Panel LTM240ML2
Firmware V1B15

babelfished link is Hope you can read japanlish

If thats the case would it be wise to delay ordering one until this revised version reachs us? or is there no issues with the UK/Europe version of this monitor?

Just noticed that the launch date for 2407 has been pushed back to 24th May by OcUK :(

Just spoke to david and cancelled my order for the 2407 due to the release date and this worrying revision issue :( , Still keeping the 512 7800GS AGP i ordered though..

Latest update in Widescreengamingforum says that the update does indeed fix the blurry text and banding issues :D , but does not fix the following issue :(

"It appears that the component issues outlined in a previous scathing review have not been fixed. According to that previous review, when in component input mode with a 1080i source, the factory menu shows a screen resolution of 1824x512 (interlaced... so 512 -> 1024). Amazingly, the normal menu shows 1920x1200. The reviewer then asks "where did the 96 horizontal rows and 56 vertical rows disappear to?" New panel, same issue."

So the thoughts are that Dell are just going to release an A01 model when component issue and previous issues are fixed, rather than release the A00 fixes and then later release an A01 rev which would cause them to have two rounds of product returns.

So to someone who doesnt know much about monitors what does that mean to someone like me who just wants one for gaming? :p And will the monitors that OcUK are getting next week going to be these revised versions?

If you are gaming on your PC via the DVI input, you have nothing to worry about.

still waiting on a good HDCP 20.1" widescreen moniter (ie 2007WFP) as being a student that works allso i don't have the money or desk space for a 24" 2407 as one would realy cost 1k , 700 for the moniter and 300 for a 2nd to run game on at the native res

Coward :D , Is there anyone left who has ordered one ?

Ive yet to change my order, however I may well do if someone cant confirm that the 2407s that OcUK are getting in are these revised versions.

On a screen like this, I'm getting a Wii and I have a HDTV capable TV card installe don my pc, the 7800GS does not have video in so I will be using Svideo in form the Wii on the digital TV card to play Wii games on.

Would it be better quality using a similar connection directly to the widescreen TFT do you think because I'm considering getting the belinea 20.1" widescreen instead which doesnt have any extra video in ports in light of the above mentioned tv card inputs!

Otherwise it may just have to be a dell screen!

Don't act like it is a bad thing. Just because it is new and has had a couple of problems doesn't mean you are going to have a problem. The net tends to exaggerate the chance you will have a problem.

Well after gettin in contact with the guys at OcUK they have told me that the ones their gettin in next week will indeed be the revised versions so im quite happy to let my order stand. :)

Is that confirmed or not by Dell, or they are hoping that this is the case ?! If Europe is definitely getting the new revision of this panel, that's the good news.
