At least it has 1:1 pixel mapping, You can just turn it into a 19" monitor if I understand correctly.
Personally, I think that anything below 1680x1050 (or minimum native resolution) is just waist of time and money for this screen. In one of the older thread, where user with relatively slow GPU was considering upgrade to the 2405 panel, I already posted this:

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7090456&postcount=10

Anyhow, it's maybe interesting subject for the discussion.

btw ... which resolution of this monitor is the trigger for the resolution scaling ? ... in other words from which resolution and below monitor is not working anymore in the native mode ?

Also going to be buying one of these if reviews turn out well... All new games run great at 1280*1024 with AA so the x1900xtx should be able to cope as long as AA is not enabled id imagine. Also the x1900 really does excel at higher resolutions and really feel its a waste at only 1280*1024.

Thought dell wernt supplying OCUK with there monitors anymore or was that a ploy to bump prices up

Dell stopped supplying their monitors to all the other online retailers since it was affecting their sales direct. this included OcUK. For a while OcUK didn't get new stock, but have managed to renegotiate with Dell afaik to get them back in, including the new models. No ploy, just changes from Dell themselves

Are you only looking for a 24" for HDCP support ?

I'll be using it for gaming mostly and maybe play the odd DVD, HDCP support would be nice but I was mainly looking at this model due to its response time. I do want a 24" minimum though other wise to me it doesnt realy feel like much of an upgrade.

not many 24" avaliable atm with fast response time and HDCP support :(

Well.. still a good bit cheaper than getting it off the Dell website. I just hope it comes this time :(

I ordered one but cancelled it when the original deadline was put back. There really is nothing worse than being offered something, getting all excited, and then finding you cant have it.

When the initial deadline was put back, would it of been too much to ask for a brief email actually explaining the situation? No one knows why the dates have been put back or why the price has now gone up. Consumers dont like being messed about. However, the situation is entirely redemeable through clear and transparent communication. A quick post/update in this thread really wouldnt be too hard for one of the members of staff. Especially seen as im betting that this whole episode is the fault of dell, and not OcUK.

i did exactly the same as you and thats eactly what i was thinking, i really cant justfy spending an extra £60 on top of the £700 already so im now not going to get one at all, and its basically down to a lack of communication. not impressed OCUK.

Calm down, calm down.

Once everywhere else starts stocking them, the price will settle back down. It's not like OCUK is your only option and it's not like they were always the cheapest when stocking the 2405.

Always expect to pay a premium if you want anything first.
