Nice, if I'm right the A01 revision has the firmware fix, or whatever Dell did to resolve the issues, so hopefully your monitor will be good. Look for dead pixels as well.sparky1000 said:Just got my 2407 (GB model A01)

Baddass said:the problems with banding were reported across all modes originally. Dell admitted there was a problem and released the new firmware (V1B15) and then the new A01 revision of the screen. This was designed to adjusts the ACC (Adaptive Color and Contrast) & ACM (Active Color Management) features, eliminating the banding issue when using the Desktop mode. All of these monitors have three display modes: Desktop, Multimedia and Gaming. The firmware turns off Faroudja video processing in Desktop mode. It remains enabled in the other two modes. It was this Faroudja controller which was causing problems, but they've only disabled it in "desktop" mode, which explains why you still see problems in other presets.

Shocky-FM said:So this will still have colour banding in games and movies or can you just leave it on desktop mode for everything ?!![]()

Baddass said:you just leave it in the "desktop" preset mode. who really bothers changing those anyway in real use?! no need in most cases...
Shocky-FM said:What benefits do the extra modes provide and any idea why dell left the other two modes knowing they had banding issues?
Humate said:is it just the banding that is an issue now? and the 2405 does not have this symptom under any conditions?
