Dell are cheeky sods!

Dells XPS support was godly for me, 256GB solid state drive broke, phoned them up and the next day a guy came to my house and fitted a new one. For my laptop ofc, my PC is self built.

I think that's the key - XPS and Alienware have separate support teams dedicated to those platforms. You are not bundled with the great unwashed for Inspirons and Dimensions, etc. :D

There is few reasons why I don't buy anything from dell anymore.

No next day delivery, but one or two weeks...
Terrible customer service (some kind of a different planet(?))
I grew up :P

Only buy Dell laptops, had many in the family past few years, any fault I have had they have replaced them instantly, either sending out the part next day or sending someone to the house next day. Can't fault them at all, and they have lasted very well.

You can get some proper bargains (with the numerous discount codes / Outlet laptops) as well.

Dell have been good to me when I bought an XPS (certified refurb) from the Outlet and it arrived with some scratches/dents.

Top / bottom plastics replaced
Lid replaced
Palm rest replaced
Bezel replaced
1080p screen replaced
Keyboard changed to backlit
Battery replaced

All this was done free of charge within the first week of buying the laptop.

Dell laptops aren't very good quality, my XPS fan noise is very loud. My gfx card went kaput a good 6 months after the warranty expired but thanks to the incompetence of the customer service people I managed to buy myself a 3 year warranty for £130 or so and got it fixed! :D

Serious?

If so you're either mad/know nothing about computers or have been extremely Lucky and actually got a system that against all odds is well built.

I personally believe it's one of the two former options as the latter is nigh on impossible!

On a personal level I have bought many Dell laptops from the Dell outlet. I had an issue with one which had a faulty graphics adapter and the entire motherboard was replaced within 48 hours at my home. The laptop was fine ever since.

My company recently moved from Lenovo to Dell for over 5000 employees globally. Every desk in my organisation has a Dell docking station which anyone can dock their laptop in to. I have a Lattitude E4300 which is great for when I travel.

Dude we've been under this particular contract with dell for 3 years now and I can say for sure the Previous D series Laptops are a complete joke I've had no end of engineers coming out to "solve the problem" by which they mean replace the faulty motherboard with the exact same model with the same fault that'll eventually rear it's ugly head again and as for the newer E series of Laptops they've apparantly got no end of H.D.D issues that several of my colleges have encountered in recent weeks.
