Well I had one swap, if it wasn't such a lottery with the screens and with Christmas in between I might have tried for another.
Expected delivery date (still on processing though)
2/1/2013.
Arghh, I take back the whole no bleed thing - tried watching a movie on it and there's an obvious yellow cast bottom left and top left covering a quarter of the screen.
It's bearable as you can't tell on anything but >75 brightness in a pitch black room with a black screen.
When I had the brightness at 85 I felt like I was burning my eyes out. Why would you want it higher than 75? 55 is comfortable barely. I get the impression that everyone is complaining about backlight bleed and hasn't actually considered putting the settings on what is actually usable. That said, I didn't have any at 85 brightness, but if I didn't have back light bleed at 60 brightness I would be content.
I was just joking, surely they wouldn't replace a U2713HM with even a U2713H just because I wasn't happy with the BLB on two monitors? I paid £CENSORED for the HM and the H is listed as twice that.more likely a U2713H i expect. U3013 (or U3014 as it looks like it will be) isn't available yet
Fixed it for youYou guys haev got to stop mentioning prices that are over £100 less than I paid.
They offered the U2913WM but it's not something I'm interested in so they're going to see if another replacement can be sent and if not I think I'll be getting a refund. It'll be a shame if I end up without the monitor as I've enjoyed using it for the last week but I don't feel I should have to accept something with such a noticeable flaw especially when the main reason I wanted an IPS was to have panel uniformity for photo and texture editing.
Wonders Why did you order these monitor/s in the first place when they are well know to have backlight bleed ...but I don't feel I should have to accept something with such a noticeable flaw especially when the main reason I wanted an IPS was to have panel uniformity for photo and texture editing.
One replacement so two monitors so far, both with pretty severe bleed. Am I right in thinking you had 2-3 before the one you currently use?how many replacements have you been through?
They're known to have a chance of having bad backlight bleed. There are plenty of people who have little or no bleed at all.Wonders Why did you order these monitor/s in the first place when they are well know to have backlight bleed ...
Yes looks to be a good 75% chance of getting one that has BLBThey're known to have a chance of having bad backlight bleed. There are plenty of people who have little or no bleed at all..
