Dell Vostro 1500

Ok yeah, using the media direct button rather than the power button boots into media-direct. Pretty nice feature if you just want to view media or something. :)
 
Sorry for the tripple post, but, I just tried to exit media direct and it's the display is gone but the background is still there and I can't shutdown the laptop with the power button or anything..... :-/

I can still move the mouse around... :-/
 
Right, lady from dell has said she can't change the price and wouldn't listen to the spec of the zepto, stubborn wench.
So has anyone hear ever had a zepto ?
 
I was just wondering, is there any sort of material you shouldn't leave your laptop on...... For example is a bed sheet ok? :-/

Just wondering if it would get very hot/dusty this way. :-/

mine managed to change it easy enough when i emailed her back and said iv changed my mind about the telephone order =/

haha if the 8400 is that crap that i want to smash the laptop to pieces she said i could send it back within 7 days, think that might be a plan
 
Hi, it would be really helpful if someone could tell me if it's safe to install any of the drivers on laptopvideo2go or if it's only certain ones which will work with the 8600.... Obviously matching the correct OS.
 
its safe yea, just look for the dell ones really though if you're worried(theres some somewhere on there, not the most recent)
Iv got ones that i put one of their modified.infs into, works like a dream mate :)
 
Getting one of these tomorrow - 1500 with basic-ish specs, loving the 3gb ram though :)

One Q, Im getting it with vista basic and I wanna upgrade it to vista ultimate. Formatting is probably best to get rid of all unwanted dell rubbish, anything I should know about drivers etc?

Oh and can you install vista ultimate 64 - there aint any drivers for 64bit on their site :S

Ordered saturday delivered wed 5pm. Quite impressed with the whole process even the guy I spent 45mins on the phone to trying to get a good deal.
 
Has anyone got any good tips for cleaning the outer of the Vostro?

If my hands are vaguely greasy when I open it, it leaves a really nasty mark :D

are you ordering your dells via business or home consumer? just got off the phone with dell who said because i ordered off the business section i cant return it for refund which sounds like bs to me.
 
I too am wondering about this, for I'm looking at ordering a Vostro, but i just tested it out and it seems you have to put in a company name (I don't have a company) so there is no way of not filling in that field. So do i just make something up? because when ordering other laptops this is not a required field.
 
Just phone them up instead...there's no problem.

Besides, if you want to get a bargain and get them to change Business for Home Premium you'll have to phone them.
