Delvis: weight lifting log - time to conquer

Halp, plz.

___________________________

Monday 19th May: Chest
  • Bench: 57.5kg x 8, 60kg x 8, 8.
  • Flat DB Bench: 22's x 8, 8, 8.
  • Inc. DB Bench: 20's x 8, 8, 8.
  • V-Push down: 23kg x 12, 27kg x 12, 12, 23kg x 12.

Pleased with that. Not sure what was up today but my left arm was hurting on the pressing portion of bench, no idea why, almost tricep related.

Either way, repping 60kg for two sets again, should be a good block this :)

Tuesday 20th May: Legs
  • Squats: 77.5kg x 5, 80kg x 5, 5, 5, 77.5kg x 5
  • Front Squat: 60kg x 5, 62.5kg x 5, 60kg x 5, 5, 5.
  • Snatch RDL: 60kg x 8, 65kg x 8, 60kg x 8.

Felt alright today, tweaked a few things again and found a couple of nice grooves for Back squats. Front squats I tried to make a nice hole between my hips, weirdly the reps that look terrible tended to be the most comfortable....Stupid.

Thursday 22nd May: Shoulders
  • PP: 40kg x 8, 42.5kg x 5, 40kg x 6.
  • OHP: 30kg x 8, 25kg x 8, 20kg x 8
  • OH.Squat: Bar x 3, 25 x 4, bar x 5 (last set amazing)
  • Snatch stuff: bar x 3 pulls, 3 to OH, 25kg x 3 pulls, 2 OH, same again, one pull to OH.

Meh, woke up, shoulder was hurting while driving =/
Strength non existent apparently.

OH Squats felt gash until the final set which was birriful. Snatch stuff, felt okay. No video sadly.

Friday 23rd May: Back
  • Deads: 127.5kg x 5, 130kg x 5, 5, 110kg x 5
  • Chins: 5, 5, 5+2negs
  • BORS: 57.5kg x 12, 60kg x 12, 12.
  • Cable rows: 52kg x 12, 12, 12.
    -S/S with-
  • Lat pulls downs: 41.3kg x 12, 12, 12.

I enjoyed that. Deadlifts felt lovely despite the warmups not being amazing, better than last week anyhow.

Monday 26th May: Chest
  • Bench: 60kg x 8, 62.5kg x 7, 60kg x 8
  • Db bench: 22's x 8, 24's x 8, 8.
  • inc. db bench: 20's x 8, 22's x 8, 8.
  • v-push down (15 reps): 14kg, 18kg x 2, 14kg
  • rope pulldown with twist (15 reps): 9kg, 14kg, 11.3kg, 9kg
  • O.H. db ext.: 8 x 15, 6 x 15

Bench starting to stagnate strength wise, I finished my last 8 rep block at 3x8x57.5kg, and im doing better than that already with another week yet, so the next 6 rep phase should bring some nice results.

Tuesday 27th May: Legs
  • Squat: 80kg x 5, 5, 5, 5, 5
  • Front Squat: 60kg x 5, 65kg x 5, 5, 5, 5.
  • Snatch RDL: 60kg x 8, 65kg x 8, 70kg x 8

Pleased with that, need to ensure I'm hitting the same line each time with back squats. Same with Front Squats but I'm still tinkering with them a bit.

Snatch RDL's: not bad, grip started to go on the 65kg set, did hook on the 70kg set and the grip started to go again....annoying.

Block of five weeks, then a block of three weeks. Repeat.

For instance, squats ill do 5x5 for five weeks, then ill do 5x3 for three weeks. Bench ill do 8's then go in to 6's.

Seems to be working so far. Shame my deadlifts broke earlier in the year.

Thursday 29th may: Shoulders and stuffs
  • PP: 40kg x 8, 42.5kg x 8, 42.5kg x 5, 40kg x 6
  • OHP: 30kg x 8, 6, 25kg x 8
  • OH.Squat: Bar x 3, 3, 25kg x 3, 30kg x 1
  • Snatch stuff: just lots
  • SOTS press: finished with trying this again, just terrible.

May switch to reps of six for next week, otherwise I'll stagnate on 42.5kg again for PP.

Good to see the weights going up and some periodised progression

Can't watch youtube at work because my flashplayer is jaffed :(

Try some Savickas press too, working wonders for me. If we do a max OH press at the strong man it'll be interesting to see how well it's paid off.

Thanks buddy, some of the PP reps weren't great (lean back y0) but they're improving.

Wouldn't mind some feedback on everything if you get a chance :)

Savickas is when you're sat down isn't it? I'm hoping I'll be able to shift 60kg for a single :p

Snatch looks much more fluid. Nice. Very nice. ;)

With your pushpress, keep your core locked as hard as you can (not sure if you are but there is some arching going on) as this makes pushpresses much easier. :)

Glad the snatch is improving.

I do engage my core woth PP, just once I fatigue/its heavy everything goes to pot, lean back and cant get my head through until a certain point....I probably could have done another rep on the second set but it would have been pointless.

Friday 30th May: Back
  • Deads: 130kg x 5, 132.5kg x 5, 5, 110kg x 5
  • Chins: 5, 5, 5+3negs
  • BORs: 60kg x 12, 12, 12
  • Cable rows: 52kg x 12, 55.3kg x 12, 12
    -S/s with-
  • Lat pull down: 41.3kg x 12, 45kg x 12, 41.3kg x 12

That'll do. Deadlifts felt nice today, despite waking up with a trap that was errrr, trapped.

Chins, still lol hard at how they are difficult.

Those snatches look good!! I'd love to try them some time, they just look the ********

Also, just wanted to say hello from a newbie - great read this log and inspirational for those normal people (ie not the beasts that lurk in here) trying to hnngh. I've learnt a lot from watching all your deads form progression :)

Hi GSVB :)

Hah thank you, id like to join a gym with a patform so I can begin to progress a bit more with the snatch as I can't really bail right now... :D

I'm glad you've enjoyed the log, it's been somewhat up and down but never mind. Keep it up and you'll be fine :)
