Mmmm seem to be struggling with the first place. Done the training but thought I had failed it as that Boss arsed on me really annoyed me that I didnt last more than two hits with that guy.

Think I just have to take my time working my way through the palace and take it easy on the knights...

Don't worry that boss (Vangaurd) is supposed to kill you :)

About halfway through my NG+ now, and so far havng absolutely no problems. 1-1, 1-2, 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, 3-1, 4-1, 4-2 all done, only died three times (once against the Flamelurker, twice by carelessness). Firestorm absolutely kicks ass against virtually every boss!

Is it the US version?

If it is I'm interested at the right price:)

US Deluxe Edition with the official Game Guide booklet. Anyways, forum rules say I can't sell outside the For Sale forum. It's in there now if your interested.

NM, it sold in 3 minutes! lol

Just bought a Deluxe Edition copy off the Bay after drooling over it for a couple of weeks. Cost me £110, which is more than I'd pay for a game, but really wanted the guidebook - I figure I can sell it on once I complete it for most of its value, if not more.

Can't wait for it now :D

£110?!?!?!

Jesus, are you made of money? I paid £40 for my Deluxe Edition in a local indie shop, and sold it for £40 + £5 to cover special delivery. Did you even look online for it? It can be had for £50-£60

No it can't, the Deluxe edition is no longer made and thus people are paying over the top for it.

A while back I went up to £80 on the bay and in the end it went for £90. Now you would be hard pushed to get one for under £100, infact I'd say £110 isn't to bad seeing as they only come up rarely now.

Really? Cause I haven't seen it anywhere in stock at that sort of price. And yes, I have been looking. Care to enlighten?

*sigh*

Does anyone think this will ever come out for the DS...

Wish I knew that! Better go back to that indie shop and see if they have anymore.

HELP

I am so rubbish at this game. My copy arrived yesterday and I played about 3 hours last night. I have been in soul form the whole time and keep dying loosing all my soul gems. I am playing as a magician and have stupidly used most of my magic generating herbs fighting easy enemies. The problem is that for the last 2 hours not one of these herbs has dropped and you can’t buy them from the stores which makes magic absolutely useless. As I am now forced into sword combat I suspect that it may be easier for a warrior class in that they could at least use the more powerful weapons that drop.

How many soul gems does it take to get your body back and to upgrade my stats? Is there a way of farming weaker enemies to become more powerful as some enemies 1 shot me.

I could not find any menu that describes what the magic spells actually do - the manual does not mention anything.

I want to enjoy the game but it’s not fun starting the first area 12 times :(

You can pick your souls back up again where you died - that is, providing you don't die again on the way. Picking your souls back up where you last died does not mean you've got your body back though, so keep this in mind. If you die again before picking your souls back up, they are gone forever. It sounds to me like you haven't even killed the first boss yet, as you can only start using your souls to level up once it's dead. You can only get your body back by one of two ways - kill a boss, or use a stone of ephemeral eyes.

You should pick royalty next time - it's a magic based class, but it starts with a ring that regenerates mana gradually. Or maybe try a temple knight, which has decent stats for magic users, starts with a healing spell and a powerful weapon with solid armor.

The magician is one of the more difficult starting classes to play as for beginners.

Thanks knives

It is not a problem too start again as have not really progressed due to my constant dying. I will try both classes you suggested - I need the frigging practice anyway. I should have known about picking up my souls from where I died as it's in the manual and some of the videos I have seen.

What's the easiest class if you like wacking things best?
Probably the Knight, but it won't really matter after long, as you can turn into class into any style you want, simply because the class you pick only determines your starting stats, not how you can level them up. So, you could easily start off as a Knight, and then turn them into a magic-wielding beast simply by choosing to level up particular stats as you go through. My personal recommendation is to try to create a hybrid character, as some enemies are more resistant and vulnerable to one type of attack over another.
