Destiny 2... It's a coming!

With someone in my self that has put about 1000+ hours on destiny 1, this feels fantastic on PC. Running at ultrawide at uncapped framerate feels incredible.

I'll be playing it a little later at 4k on my OLED T.V to see how it looks with HDR at 4k.

Not only that but i believe it's optimised very well on PC and that's a huge + for me.

It will be a major struggle to go back to console at 30 fps. I'll be playing on PS4 Pro with a irl friend but i can not wait for it to come out on PC.

I'll be raiding on PC for sure with a full fireteam. I'm so hyped and i can not wait and if it wasn't for my irl friend i wouldn't touch it on anything but PC at all.

If the rest of the game runs like it does here then its in a release state, its not the most stunning looking game in the world but it still looks good. It just does exactly what a AAA multi plat game on the pc should do.

A big thumbs up from me so far, done titan and hunter and much prefer the hunter. Especially in pvp, excellent beta!

Just finished a benchmarking run on my laptop. Good news is that the game runs well there as well.

For reference the specs of my laptop are:

i7 4700 MQ
GTX 780M @ 849/5000 (stock)
16GB DDR3
1080p 60Hz IPS display

i7EUv3q.png

Bumping up the clocks to 900/6000 netted a few FPS more which would be handy for the scenes where it dips below 45fps.

Note - It defaulted everything to medium but I put texture detail and environment detail up to high).

Overall performance would be similar to a i5 7600k / GTX 1050Ti (although I would expect this to pull ahead in the minimums). Not too bad at all. :)

with destiny 1, they opened up way too much content in the beta. so when the actual game came out, you had already seen 1/4 of the content. looks like they've taken a different angle this time around and just given you a tiny taste of things to come.

how could you not be excited for more after that epic finish to the prologue? :D
don't you wanna see what happened to all the chars, or find out how you are going to get revenge?

...felt a bit meh.. i mean
Poof something happens to sphere and suddenly you cannot stand on your own feet for some weird reason and you are basically a vegetable wanting to die. I mean that has to be what you want since you are just sitting on your knees doing absolutely nothing to prevent what's coming for you.

Though when that is said and done, i did found out later on a stream that you can customize weapons in a few i didnt knew was possible.. That was interesting.

Anyone feel the region lock will be an issue? A lot of my raids in Destiny 1 were with US players I joined using /fireteams or the100.io

I think it's just the codes are region locked. On the battle.net login I can choose Europe or Americas as my region?

Is there a list of ID's I can add to?

if not, add me. Misschief#2842

The optimisation in this game is unreal. For those with just 4 threads (i5 CPUs), you're in safe hands. I posted this earlier on Reddit, this is my CPU load during the strike:

http://i.imgur.com/5PYs020.jpg

It only uses 40-60% of my CPU during the strike.

It also only uses 80% of my 1080ti at its peak on 4k maximum settings vsynced to 60fps. There are loads of overhead left for both CPU and GPU.

Which begs the question. With literally up to 60% CPU load to spare a lot of the time with just four cores, what the hell are Bungie doing with the console versions? They run EIGHT cores, yet Bungie says the CPUs are too weak to manage 60fps.

Warlock in pvp seems way undertuned, as in laughably so, unless im missing something important, they just dont seem to have the take down or survive ability of the others.

Well the OCUK was fairly popping tonight! Chat was going well and lots of voice rooms active.

If you don't have it, the platform ID list is my signature as well as the discord server. :)

I think there will be a lot of grouping for crucible from what I saw in the chat.

I'm impressed how much better it feels playing on the PC given the improved performance and mouse/keyboard controls compared to the PS4. It really shows how under-powered the so called current gen consoles actually are compared to even a mid-range PC.

I still can't decide how I feel about the game itself though. I could never really get into the first Destiny on PS4 as it felt kind of grind'y, I never felt it made good on the whole massively muiltiplayer promise given the lack of genuine open world play and the linear missions and level structure.

I'll probably hold fire and see how the console reviews pan out before deciding whether to get it for the PC.

Agreed, went in on a Hunter and destroyed, struggled to get the flow right on the Warlock. Warlock was nice for PvE though

I'm excited man, we should have a good few groups for PvP and raids

What's your thoughts on the beta mate?

So I've played the beta for a few hours, done the intro mission and the Strike and some points from me:

Graphically it looks good, but not spectacular. No doubt to keep the FPS up on lower machines but it doesn't budge from 60FPS on my 1080 @2560x1080 Ultrawide. IMO The Division looks better.
Gameplay seems a little sparse right now with very few drops other than Ammo here and there and I ran out a couple of times so had to switch weapon. Sometimes I wasn't sure if I'd even picked up ammo on the ground as it's not entirely clear when you do and the pickup noise is very quiet. Gunplay feels good, a typical Bungie strong point from when I used to play Halo 1 on PC. They know how to do that well. Overall it's fun, but I'm not exactly bowled over by it. Kind of what I was expecting then really. I won't be cancelling my standard edition pre-order and am looking forward to it, but not quite excited for it!

Im getting closer and closer to pressing that refund button.. gave the pvp a try a few times and it felt like CoD with the same insane short ttk although slower movement, some may like that but i dont..i really really dont. So fare this Demo only has one thing going for it imho and that's the good performance and good visuals.
