Destiny 2... It's a coming!

What fov is everyone running? The default 90 still feels a bit restrictive to me, but I'm getting used to it so figured I'd best fiddle now before I bed in.

93 at 1440p, 94 felt weird, 92 felt restrictive.

Question, upgrade points, I'm not spending them much as if I'm honest, the games a tad easy. If I save them, can I spend them on my subclasses?

Thanks

OK so I've played for two nights, solo really rather than in any organised group.

Graphically it looks good, but not great IMO. Parts of it are very functional but this is likely to help with the framerate which, it has to be said is great, even on modest rigs. Just what you want in a shooter.

The music is excellent and the sound effects are good. Not DICE good, but still, very good.

Gameplay wise it also feels good. You feel your movement has weight and inertia, the gunplay is excellent with unique weapons that feel and behave differently. The guns feel like they have punch and recoil, even though you can't feel them. Even since the Halo days they've always been good at this sort of thing.

The only criticism I can say is that there's no a lot of guidance in the game. I went down to earth on the first mission, level 3, maybe 4 at the time and was having a decent time of it with the attacks and the insect things that don't like headshots and we were having a grand time. THen I was all like 'ooh what's down here' and ended up being repeatedly massacred by some Centurion type Cabal dude who felt like he/she/it was an easy 20 levels above me. No warning, no 'DANGER! These enemies might be too powerful for you right now, come back later' warning, just as good as instant death. So I went a different way and again found some much higher level bad guys. It all seems a bit, well, random at the moment as I wasn't expecting these higher level bad guys in what is supposed to be a lower level area. It all seems very haphazard. There's no real indication that you should go this way or don't go that way. For a game that originated on Console this actually surprised me as us PC gamers always criticise console games and gamers as needing their hand held all the time. It's fun, but it all seems rather random at the moment.

Also when I was matched with people some were level 10 and 14 who went to higher level areas, others closer to my level but there was little in the way of teamwork and it was very easy to lose your team/squad/group and I often ended up doing solo stuff again. Other times people would seem to randomly disappear right in front of me. Going back into orbit or some such I guess. Again the word that comes to mind, having come from fairly rigid squad based games like Battlefield 3/4/1 and The Division is 'random'.

Yes you can, but the first block of upgrades (below level 8) is common between them so spend away. You can only equip one tree at a time from either subclass

Never mind a "tad" , I am finding it ridiculously easy. I dont know whether its just a very easy game or whether its being able to play with mouse/keyboard which makes it easy, but so far I can literally play with one eye on the football on the tv and barely watch what I'm doing in game. I'm used to a little more difficulty in my PC shooters. Hoping that the difficulty will ramp up a bit later on

What is everyone's FPS like??

I'm using a 1080ti, i7 4770k and ultrawide 3440x1440 and during the beta it was locked 100fps, now the game is getting busier with other guardians I can feel the fps being sucked away. It drops to 60 frequently.

Yea, I'm still finding it very easy, the combat is engaging, but enemies just feel like paper towels. I'm hoping late game raids will up the toughness.

Reduce depth of field down from the max to the second highest. High? I did that, gained about 30fps!!!!

Let me guess... It runs perfect for a while then suddenly drops and stays there?

I think there is an optimisation issue on the EDZ and Nessus as it does it only on those two planets

It is quite an easy game not really aimed at shooting ability apart from trials of Osiris.

the raid is fun, but its more a teamwork raid than a shooting skill raid.

yeah this time round they've made it a lot easier to get to end game, which means playing 1 day a week and you will still be able to do the raids and play trials.

Yeah it was EDZ, seemed to be running fine and then, like you said dropped and stayed low.

Will give the depth of field trick a shot. Cheers :)

Well got to lvl 20 on my warlock dude last night. I still can’t work out if I like this game or not although I did find myself keep coming back to it. I’m sure that’s a good thing.. I just need a good winter grind game.

Away for a few weeks but when I get back I’m guessing I will play some more to level up my gear and stuff:D
