Ok, I'll create it later today.

Reason I wanna create it is I can manage it along with applying some extra admins.

So what's the final thought on the name and tag?

It's a black box, the only way people can tamper with what is going on the client is via the network connection, or the controller input....which is a pretty limited attack surface.

Destiny plays nice because it uses client authority for hit detection, it means if your crosshair is over an enemy and you pull the trigger on a hitscan weapon, then your client says "I just hit this agent" and every other client trusts that message and responds accordingly, regardless of timing.

Means the gunplay is tight and snappy and shots land well, but you have to trust the client and also means you trade kills all the time.

PC Destiny 2 will have a truckload of work to do on engine to make the multiplayer game work. I wouldn't be surprised to see it slip further behind the console release.

Knowing the PC platform and associated hacking "community", D2 on PC will have working hax as soon as the beta is playable.

The Quake Champions closed beta was hacked within days. Pretty much every FPS release in recent years is hacked quickly. Cod AW was hacked within a week of release. Blops 3 was hacked during beta.

Sad to say it is a big industry these days and paid hack sites are rife.

Unfortunately, without really invasive anti cheat it wont ever change and thats why I moved to console. Cod AW was the game that made me switch - the amount of blatant hacking within days of release was ridiculous. Steam didnt do a damn thing even though their forums were full of complaints and evidence.

The kind of anti cheat required to make PC gaming secure would have huge and unrealistic privacy implications on client machines and as such wont ever be rolled out.

Shame as I much prefer gaming on PC but the hacking is tiresome.

Mr Gimp is looking at taking over the original clan from whoever set it up as they don't play anymore. Might be worth talking to him and keeping it going as there's about 100 people in it I think over PS4 and XB.

Thing is, the current implementation of "clans" and "groups" doesn't really do much, so nobody has had any work TO DO with it.

As it stands there is a group of about 300 strong and 2 clans, one for PS4 and one for Xbox. They come to about 130 or so of that 300.

As per Jay above, we're looking to bring the Xbox clan across to D2, you should keep the PS4 OcUK clan going.
 
Chandler: I'm gonna assume the the core PS4 contingent primarily communicate outside the clan anyway (WhatsApp etc) much like the Xbox lot do, so I'd happily centralise everything with a Discord server or something assuming we can keep the two platforms as one clan like Frodders said.
I didn't see much point in keeping anything happening on the Bungie end of things over the past years as hardly anybody used it anyway.
Clan wise, I'm happy to add you in as admin as well once everything has gone over.
 
Is the Destiny 1 OcUK PS4 clan migrating to Destiny 2 or starting afresh with a new OcUK clan as I think Chandler's point was to get active current players on to connect together.

I was in the clan originally but joined a different one after about 18 months as a lot of people dropped off when other games released and the grind got to much. ;)
 
The clan has already been migrated to D2 clan, just awaiting the roll over date at the end of the month for last minute changes to occur.
Active clan members who are displaying the clan tag will migrate over but anyone who was merely a member if the group will be removed.
 
left my clan to so when ever its ready I'll join up, done a search on Bungie but only found OCUK Halo clan.

If you do a search on Bungie.net when logged in for Overclockers it should come up with the group then go to the group wall and there is a clan tab, I have just done it and it seems to have worked but not sure what happens when it migrates after August 23rd.

We should ask Lacie to join as well. I will also get my Mrs joined up to the clan. No doubt there will be some achievements / Grimore which is clan related.
 
Was looking forward to being a member of Gary's gimps too :D

I've been a member of the OCUK clan since it was made, do I not have to do anything then and I'll just get migrated over in D2?

Be good having everyone on the same page as I think Bungie are trying to make clans matter more in D2.

I believe Mr Gimp said above that if you are already a member of the clan and have linkd your PSN / Xbox ID you will migrate across. IIRC you have Overclockers UK PS4 on your emblem so you should be fine.

On that note I did some challenges with the Mrs and her sister in PVP over the weekend.

It was me who could only use the assigned gun / melee for third challenge and them who could use anything. Turns out I am useless with NLB (7 for 12), quite decent with any fusion (using the gunsmith one I went 26 for 5) and managed a positive KD using only melees..... (shoulder charge is cheating apparently... :p).

It was hilarious but now I am not allowed to play them anymore.... :D

Ah, that's good then.

We can even do some guided games for people who need it etc.
 
I've pre-ordered! Excitement starting to register now. Might have to book the Friday off that week for an early finish. Not fussed about launch day as no doubt the servers will be sat in the corner, broken and crying.
