Any time today tbh.

I'm not aiming to stick around and try and finish it (unless people have practiced the last 2 phases already because they are so much harder than the rest) so going through the first 2/3 of it in an hour or 2 if things go smoothly suits me just fine. Plenty of loot in there.
 
good game last night team - well played till we got to the boss :D
We did well to get there so quick but I think it got a bit tiresome towards the end though!

Looking forward to finishing him off tonight - got me a nice exotic weapon I need to power up in the meantime - unfortunately I'll have to leave my hand machine gun behind if I'm gunna use it!

Anyone thinking twice about doing a raid - DONT! - It requires team work for sure and good comms, and it's a whole new level as opposed to the often talked about 'kill/ghost/kill' scenarios running through the same levels and strikes. It adds a good puzzle element I think, as its not just a case of following a straight path and the challenges vary.

See you guys on tonight hopefully - i'll be on about 8:!5 - shouldn't take us more than a couple of hours taking that darn boss out /he hopes!

I'm looking to get involved but I'm never really online until about 10.30pm.

If anyone wants to start late then fire me an invite in game and I'll drop what I'm doing and join in.
 
Strategy for final boss guys?

Having trouble beating Atheon? Your problems are solved. My clan figured out a way to beat him in 4 portal runs (about 5-6 mins). He's really not that hard, and with practice, your team will be able to beat him in no time! So listen up!

You need all six people and at least one of them needs to be a Titan. That Titan is the key because he has a bubble shield the makes the guardians that goes into it have damage boost. VERY IMPORTANT!!! Another thing you need to know is which portal is on which side. From where you spawn, green is on the right and yellow is on the left. And lastly, your three best players need to be the group that gets teleported. The outside group has it pretty easy.

Now on to the strategy. When the portal group gets teleported, they need to call out if they're in the green room or yellow room so the outside group knows which portal to open up. After that the person with the highest health grabs the relic and heads down to kill the enemies in the room along with another portal group member. The other member of the portal group needs a good gun to focus on killing all seven oracles. By the time he's killing the fourth oracle, the other two should have the enemies dead. Everybody cleanse, kill the rest of the oracles, and cleanse one more time after exiting the portal.

Now the outside group. It's your job to clear enemies while opening the right portal for the portal group. That's basically it, but very important. And don't die!

Now when the portal group walks out of the portal, the relic guy should scream "middle now!". Five members (including the Titan) jump on the middle platform where no enemies can get you (the other member should be doing ad control). The relic guy has infinite shield with the relic then. Everyone can shoot out of it and Atheon can't shoot in. Note: from the time you kill the last oracle, you get a damage boost for 25 seconds. So everyone get to the middle quick! Now here's the great part! The relic guy stands towards the front of the middle ledge while the Titan drops his shield behind it. When a player walks in and out of the titans shield he gets a damage boost for about ten seconds. And yes, that does mean THE DAMAGE BOOST STACKS ON TOP OF THE OTHER DAMAGE BOOST!!!!! Get your boost from the Titan shield, step into the relic shield, and unleash hell on atheon! You'll notice a difference when you're doing thousands of damage each time.

When the timer in the left hand corner gets down to about 4 seconds, everyone scatter back to their positions. After that, it's like clockwork. Repeat this a few more times and you'll have Atheon beat in no time! It'll take a little practice for everyone to get their role down, but it works flawlessly.

Yeah we did well up until the end last night. Same happened the night before with another group. I think it's just tiredness for most and loss of concentration.

When I went back in just for the boss it was pretty easy. It's still easy to mess up but once you get going it's fine.

If we all work to this strategy then it'll be fine. I was trying to explain it last night but it was late and people were getting a little frustrated. lol.

If deff makes a difference though having 2 lvl 26 players but with the right tactics it should still be fine.



Regarding tonight - I'm not sure if everyone is available or not but I'm happy to do it if we can get the(or 'a') group together.
Luckily you still get the loot no matter who you complete it with.


I even got the trophies for raid and clan by just doing the boss with another group. So it's quite flexible.



So seems like tonight on PS4, I have the boss checkpoint for anyone who wants to take him on - or if that's where you are up to and your group won't get a chance to run it before the reset.

I'll be aroumd this eve and happy to finish off. Trying to level up new gear to hit 28 beforehand. Think the extra levels really help on last boss

A list would be useful like last time bud - just to ensure we have the 6 we need.

I'm defo up for it - kids will be in bed by about 8:15, so I'll be ready for 8:30 tonight.
 
Yeah good point - I'm just not sure about my mates at level 26. One 26 is fine but with two who both have bad guns then it's quite a challenge.

I'm looking to do it fast tonight as I'd rather watch the NFL to be honest. lol.

Guess we could try it and see how it pans out.

Yeah same here, want to get it blasted through asap as got work early tomorrow. Once this boss is done I'm done with Destiny for a bit I think! - I've put waaaaay too many hours into this game and the missus is demanding more attention lol :rolleyes: (My attention is fixed on drive club being released in 5 days though lol - sshhhhh ;) )
