*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

I've seen that people have made it to level 32 already. The only way I can see that being possible is creating multiple characters, getting them to level 20, kitting them out, running the raid, deleting the character. Rinse and repeat. God that must be mind numbing!

You only have so long to do it and I know killing the oracles in VoG is similar, in VoG if for whatever reason someone messes up you can through team work recover and continue. Mess up this though and almost gauranteed a wipe. You can't really complain about it being cheesed, yes the cheese shouldn't be possible but it isn't a fault with the raid itself so once patched will be fine.

I probably should have added that "at the moment" it's worthless. I'm not really complaining about people cheesing the bridge section, I've done it that way too to see if it worked, but having a section that can be cheesed with a group or solo'd makes the whole raid a bit worthless and a bit of a farce. Yeah, I know it'll be patched, but still. :/

I think you will get duplicates though, didn't they say more likely to drop what you haven't got not that only drop what you haven't got. I'm not sure if they said more likely, maybe they did but I can't see you getting the kind of numbers needed to get enough materials for the armour/weapons you do keep. Take the VoG for example, I ended up with something like 9 helmets, 7 pairs of boots, 4 chest pieces, 3 sets of gauntlets, 4 Corrective Measures, 5 Praedyth's Revenge, 4 Found Verdict, 2 Atheon's Epliogue, 2 Mythoclast, 1 Fatebringer and 1 Praedyth's Timepiece. Can't see this new raid giving that amount of duplicates.

They've already got 3 of the same character and got blessed with RNGesus.

e: Hmm, maybe not with the radiant shards required... oh man, what a grind!

Yeah, it's the shards that are the limiting factor. Getting the gear could happen in a single run through, but getting 63 Radiant Shards from 3 runs of the raid..? Not a hope in hell!
 
Are the shards for different class interchangeable or are they fixed for specific class? I've noticed there's a different image for these radiant shards for different class...

You just move slowly as a unit covering all angles, stopping to revive as necessary, ignore the debuff and just make your way through. It'll be dead easy (if slow) doing it that way now we have 31s involved. Because you're a small packed group you are constantly chaining supers off each other which makes for fun times!

Whilst I know you can do it without dying the constant slow moving in the dark is just not fun, its incredibly tedious and, as I've said, given that it's easier to do it solo is daft.

Looks like we'll be mostly 31 for CE so should be a good run. I've not actually managed to finish a section of CE yet despite being in there a few times scouting various stages....we should be good to go. I think we're at the stage now where if you haven't done it all yet, it would be worth sneaking a quick look at a guide, as it's not going to be new for most people and it'll just make more sense when we explain it.

Would be up for both, if I can get my warlock to 30 tonight I would like a go at VoG on hard as he’s not yet been through it. If not I’ll bring the titan to both (lvl 31), should also have the icebreaker mk2 maxed tonight which will do nicely. Just need a bit of luck with the RNG to get some new legendary primary/heavy weapons to drop (not had one yet, and legendary engrams have become the old 300 max ones for me :mad:).
 
Hixx and I managed to beat Crota today for the first time with some guys from LFG. Took us a few goes to get our rhythm down and a few more to get some good runs, but when we managed it, it seemed fairly easy for some reason. I got the fusion rifle with insanely fast charge rate, while Hixx got the rocket launcher (git). Looking forward to doing it again soon now.

Just the one. Technically, you can solo right up to the 2nd chest too but it'll take some doing. You'll need to be a Bladedancer for the 1st bit. I think any class can solo the 2nd part and get to the 2nd chest.
 
Had to miss out on Destiny until 9 - TV has been overtaken! Is there a raid run at 9? If so, I'll join. If not, I still need to do 1 Nightfall, 2 Weekly's, and kill Urzok.

I think we have 4 for a raid not sure if anyone else wants to give vog hm a go just messaged you re nightfall that explains the no reply:D
