*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Added you to the list mate as there was still a space. Friend a few of us, it'll probably start a bit late as G23 Mr Gimp (baby) has shocking time keeping! ;)

Oh, and bring along a nice selection of snipers, rocket launchers, machine guns (Super Good Advice would be great for Oracles at Atheon) and your favourite shotties and primaries and it'll be a breeze! We'll take you through and explain what to do as we go and don't worry, its certainly not too serious! :D

We definitely have a laugh whilst doing the raids. They aren't too difficult and as jay said bring your fave weapons to the party. If you have a gally, even better as that helps a lot with the crota raid.

You know the way you feel about final round? That's kind of how I feel about blink. Blink isn't too bad when it's somebody with a good connection I just think it's a bit scrubby.. but when it's somebody on a red bar using blink? I've almost put my controller through the window some nights over people like that, they're just impossible to hit =(

I guess so, but I think the main issues are other problems with the game. Firstly it was leaked that next gen consoles have a contract too allow network games up too 500ms which is ****ing insane. Shotguns are super over powered.

Biggest issue I think is the radar, it allows someone to know exactly where to blink/slide to shotgun snipe you, play an inferno playlist its lovely, no blink shotgun anywhere. I have a lot of issues with the radar in generally, it makes the game boring, imagine playing trials where people could actual flank , it would be so much more tense if you don't know where everyone is at every second, you would have to really watch your back and have a nice set up. Radar does help new players get a few easy kills I suppose.

Cool, not sure which night suits everyone but I should be able to make most nights from 7ish.

If I'm around I'll be up for more Raids, but I get home around 8:30pm most weekdays.

Oh just to add, leave the suicides aka rogueicides to me...I'm a master of somehow falling off cliffs and whatnot :p

If this is still going ahead tonight, I'd love to tag along. Never done Crota's End or VoG, but I have an understanding (kinda) of what to do.

Or Dave on a sparrow!

I'm happy to do Crota 3 times again. We need to be a bit more coordinated on the classes couldn't believe we had 6 warlocks at the start. You need 3-4 though so we can cheese the bridge easily.

I'll use my hunter with don't touch me for the first part next time, running it with 6 warlocks was interesting even with self revive nobody else made it to the end.

Also better if more than 2 switch out at witches part just as a backup in case something goes wrong with the checkpoints.

If you need numbers I can join in the triple crota raid but as I don't need anything I am happy for someone else to have the place if they are waiting for a drop.

Well we could have backups.

Or if we have more than 6 what we can do is if a crux does drop on the first run. That person can opt out of the next 2 runs so someone else can try and get it.

I know the only gun I want is the nechro so if it drops on the first run for me then I'm happy to let someone else try and get one on the 2nd and 3rd if we have more than 6 trying to get it.

As much as I would like to meet up with you guys I think it's going to cost me too much money which can't afford at the minute.

It's very marginal, especially if you have some titans faffing about jumping up to the tower. Anyway, it's one of the better parts of the raid, dunno why you'd skip it these days.

I have 48 raid completions according to bungie (i reckon it should be higher does it only count full raid completions?).

I hate playing against AI tbh. It's boring, especially if you have already done it 50 times.

The only reason why I do NF's and weeklies is for the loot not because I enjoy doing them.

Therefore we try and get them done ASAP.

Sure if you haven't already done it 48 times like myself then you may enjoy doing it. Now though it's old hat and I'd rather just get a Crux so I never have to do that raid ever again.

Thats why I always hated PVE stuff all together, I only finished my first HM raids last weekend, cause I got burnt out on PVE just doing Raids when I first started the game. I'm happy in PVP where you never know what could happen and the combat is varied, they do need too sort out the lag, its what I hope for most from taken king.

I don't know why you do any content if you don't enjoy it, the bridge is actually the best encounter in CE, requires everyone to get involved, good communication, sword smashing goodness.

I'm on 69 completions ;p I enjoy raiding, sans cheese. It's like doing oracles/templar from up top, so boring, much more fun to do it properly.

I actually prefer doing the bridge legit at this point, if you cheese it correctly that is definitely faster but the key term there being correctly. If there's an idiot Titan, take me for example.. who forgets to change his jump so it takes 5 minutes just to get up on the ledge it can be slower in some cases =)

you don't need to climb anything with 4-6 warlocks.

you all jump off the ledge then self res.

we ran it with 6 warlocks last week up until the witches section then we swapped out so we had 2 of each.

we then ran the 2nd and 3rd raid from the witches section onwards to maximise exotic drops.

so we never ran the lamp, shrieker or bridge section 3 times just the once.

I have honestly got to the point where I simply don't care if we run the bridge "legit" or via some form of cheese (will run it based on the way the team wants to run it). The only reason I am running Crota is for the Crux. The only part I "enjoy" (of the raid itself, running with others is fun in itself) is running sword at Crota himself. Jumping up as a lumbering Titan in full view of everything and going for the first smash as soon as it technically possible can get the pulse racing.

For a proper raid I look no further than VoG.
