*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

I managed to get the machine gun twice from NM drops (during my HM runs), one at 300 and the other at 306. I really want the HM version of it, but I'm happy to finally get it. It's a pretty decent machine gun, certainly for the raid.
 
I did reasonably well with my drops across two characters (up to Oryx both times on HM):

Pigtails - 314 RL / 313 Boots / 314 Shotgun (infused into 1000-Yard Stare) / 306 Class item

Moody - 313 HMG / 314 Boots / 319 Cloak (given to Pigtails to make her (just!) 311.

Also got some NM stuff to infuse other items above 300.

Pigtails can now hit 311 and Moody 308. Bluey will be around 305/306 once I infuse stuff into her chest and class item.
 
I've yet to get the machine gun - only weapon I've not had yet.

So far from HM, with one run to Oryx and another to Daughters:

319 Rocket Launcher
316 Rocket Launcher
316 Warlock Boots
312 Titan Chest

At the moment, I'm using the RLs to get me to 310 but once I get a bit more gear, I'll infuse them into my sword and possibly Ash Factory.
 
Right, who wants to do an oryx normal mode run this week.

There was a bunch on us that haven't done it that said they wanted to try it.

Not sure what time or day yet, I can do most nights inc. tonight which would be good because then we could do it again after the reset tomorrow.

I am up for this but can't do tonight (at work but off the rest of the week) My brother would like to as well if there is space
 
Good run on our alts last night to get to Oryx just a shame we couldn't get him down on our mains. I think given another run or 2 we should all be at or above the magic 311 so have more of a chance. Especially using the technique we were trying towards the end.

My max light is 310 and that is with my raid set up as I am being limited by my 296 helmet. It is annoying that in 8 or 9 normal raids, 2 HM to Oryx I haven't had a helmet drop and no helmet engrams ever seem to decode to 310 for me :(

Hah, exactly same with me, can't get raid helm or 310 engram at all! 297 helm on my main still

Frustrated about not being able to drop Oryx over the weekend. I don't think there are any plans to finish him tonight so I might roll the dice on LFG and see if I get lucky.

I should be on from around 8:30 just messing about so let me know if your taking another crack at it. Wouldn't mind joining in :)

8pm sounds good to me. Honestly I have no idea. I'm hoping that I might get black spindle on the daily before wednesday but that seems unlikely. Other than that I have no idea. I haven't run the whole raid myself yet. From the small part I have done (and a little bit of the end boss) a good sniper is useful for Oryx but before that any weapon was fine.

I need to get over 300 light to start getting 310 drops in my exotics and general drops but I think having a high light level is just as important as having the best weapons. I imagine that its more tactics and being good at shooting things than it is being a beast weapons wise.
