People do still on occasion run the old raids, mostly as sherpa for new people to the game to give them experience. It would be fun to do but the drops wouldn't help increase your light level. Unfortunately you are a little bit stuck at the moment as for Kings Fall normal mode we all really needed to be ~295 but if you could get a group of 300+ you would probably be alright ~290. It is the downside of Destiny, you can hit 270-280 pretty easy but it is a real grind to get over 290.

I'm a gnat's hair from 300 and a couple of exotic engrams I'd love to find out what's inside
Am up for this although we have a raid set up for tues night but not sure if that is happening now.
Easiest way to hit 290 is make sure you have your highest light armour and weapons equipped when decrypting blue engrams. Also buy some three of coins, pop one when you do a strike and you may get an exotic weapon armour to further boost your light level.
Make sure you get all the non raid quests done too, sometimes you will get some nice exotic weapon drops.
This cracked me up it's really a projection of your own ego.
I enlisted a friend to drag me and a buddy through trials to get the scout rifle his K/D is 2.4 and he's insanely humble/chilled. He literally carried us the whole way, our roles were survive & revive. When we lost our first game after 6 rounds of him steam rolling everyone he just asked if we want to go grab new passes or carry on. Zero **** were given about losing and he would happily run trials with us again.

I spent ages doing the quest for the Boolean Gemini then realised I need to have rank 3 rep and thats gonna take a real long time.
I need to do court of oryx for a quest too but I don't think I'll be able to solo it. Maybe 2 players its possible?
You can solo level 1 but you can always post on a lfg (r/fireteams / 100.io) for a pickup. Also tip if your failing or looking for a specific combination you can either die and not respawn until it ends (15 seconds ish) or jump on one of the pillar just outside the court and you'll get your rune back.

You can get one for each character.
Apparently you can still get a ship drop for every time you do it (so if you really want the ship you can sherpa people through the mission)

Dear lord, I tried to do the sisters with a bunch of randoms quickly before bed and thats the first time I have come across a complete **** on it.
He was bossy, got angry when people quit after he had shouted at them when they made any mistake. The best part was that he argued with us for 2 minutes before we started about how it actually works. Turns out he hadn't done it but "he had been told" it works the way he said. We all quit eventually because he was such a ****.
5 good people ruined by one bad. I felt really sorry for the guys that were inexperienced because he expected them to understand and execute first go even after his **** explanation. It was a joke.

Told you my jumping was rubbish, though it was significantly better than the other night, I never got near the relic the other night, at least I picked it up a couple of times. I just new it would pick me for what would have been the final one, sorry I let you guys down again.

Why didn't the fire team leader boot him?? I had the same issue last night with some American punk...when he joined he was 260 light so said he won't be able to raid with us then changed into another character at 291. Said he had done the raid but he lied but anyhow we decided to keep him in. In reality he had all the parts up to the totems but hadn't gone any further. Because I had the sisters cp he was completely out of his depth but explained to him what was going on. Kept dying and putting the rest of us under pressure but managed to nail that part. Then onto oryx where again we explained the basics of the fight. Again kept dying then was shouting at us to revive him, first few times we did then in the end we just ignored the idiot and managed to get oryx down after a couple of wipes.
It really is frustrating when you have to literally carry someone through a raid, makes it so difficult as it just puts more pressure on the others to cover his bits as well.
Really wanted to boot him but didn't want to be 'that guy' plus as annoying as he was, it felt nice getting him through the raid in the end.
Next time I'll just boot anyone who isn't patient and not willing to learn or follow simple instructions lol.
Now really need to try and get the hard mode done at some point this week.
