*** Destiny Raid & PvP discussion thread ***

Well like i said, the group i was with did atheon on hard in around 10 minutes, i've spent much longer than that with random people (usually americans and friends of friends of friends) wiping/cheesing him. The relic manages around 25,000 damage, but an ice breaker crit shot landed over 12,000. 4+ people with ice breakers hitting the critspot for 20 seconds absolutely wrecked him and we'd got him down in 3 teleports.

One person in atheons room hid on a ledge above the left portal and blasted the harpies from up high while the other two held the gate open and blasted harpies on the ground.

Inside (where i was), both non relics grenaded the enemies and one stuck around to shoot them with the relic holder until oracle 3 spawned, then they helped me out once the enemies were down. I took out oracles 1 and 2 solo and smashed the last of the oracles.

once through the portal relic holder jumped on the middle platform, everyone switch to icebreakers/snipers and destroyed atheon while the guy on the ledge above the portal kept blasting harpies to clear the way for when everyone jumped off the platform. At 5 seconds everyone bailed from the middle, 2 towards portals and 2 towards back wall. front 2 shot at atheon to draw his fire while the relic holder jumped to the back.

It was so good it felt easy. REALLY enjoyed it!
 
Good to hear that Atheon on Hard is pretty much the same as normal - I guess its that pesky Minotaur/Hobgoblins you have to look out for...

If you've got a solid team nailing him with decent Rocket launchers when the buff is active they hit him for 12k+, my Gjallarhorn was hitting him for 12k + 1,5k per heat seeker. On normal I get him down to 2/3 health almost on my own after the first teleport, but then someone dies and it all falls apart from there and I've just wasted a heavy ammo pack worth of rockets meaning I can't resupply for 5 minutes, so I've never successfully killed him first time with rockets yet, it's usually ice breakers on the middle platform.

I would really like to see a team of 6 (-1 for relic holder) with fully upgraded Gjallarhorn rocket launchers just lay into him after the team kill the last oracle for the buff, because I have a feeling you'd pretty much one shot Atheon with no need to teleport again.

Ask and you shalt receive. 17 seconds, and that was with only 4 of them using Gjallarhorns.

Definitely the best way to do it, the grenades being chucked down really help a lot! Especially on hard mode as the minotaurs take a battering!

The jumping to the centre thing is how I first beat the raid and do it that way with a few Americans I play with sometimes. Gets massive damage on him without worrying about the supplicants.
 
If anyone plans on running the raid on normal ps4 on Saturday I have two people wanting to join. 27/28 hunter and a 27 Titan. Thanks
 
Anyone running Raid on XB1 tonight?

I'm up for running it, got 2 characters (Warlock/Hunter) good to go on Normal and 1 good to go on Hard (Warlock).

Yes, it was just the templar. Everything else was done normally. Ditto comments to Uber, thanks again for organizing run and taking it us through.

Our Regular raiding party is:

1. Fr0dders
2. Martin
3. GetSomeNuts
4. Rob75
5. Krisboats

That leaves one space. Not sure about Rob, Martin, Kris, but I think I'd like to try and find another 6th person to make up that regular raiding party and stick to it every week, rather than what we currently do which is find a random 6th person every time.

And to do it on hard, you've got to be level 29 or 30. At level 28 you just take too much damage from the minotaurs, and can't dish enough out. Martin can attest to just how much being level 28 hampers you.

You're welcome to join if you're level 29 or above, any offers ?
 
If anyone is up for the normal VOG on Saturday at 20:30 that would be great.
Alternatively could give it a go tonight around 21:30 but don't want to go past midnight really.
PS4 - FaceBaker - Level 27 Hunter (might be 28 by Saturday).
