Yeah we found the same - I think we are going to try the tracking rockets with grenade approach and hope we can do it in 2 sweeps - its the portals and all their bugs that really cause the uncertainty. That new cheese method is just way too random to replicate easily...

Come back to me when you are 29 - also with Hunters you'll find it hard getting involved in hard raids unless you are a Gunslinger - I've known PUGs to avoid recruiting Hunters full atop...

Added - though as you said that interested list is long enough to build a second hard raid team. I'd happily join in too if I'm available but I'd rather not organise it!

I see now why most hard raid groups insist on level 30 only. By having a team almost full of 29s, you just hamper yourself too much. If your team has 5 level 29s, you are almost down 2 men during the atheon phase when attempting to take him down.

I'm going to keep doing the normal mode raid and hope to pick up some more raid armror, and maybe get a piece of level 30 armor from the new iron banner event to fill any gaps.

Yes it won't be my ideal loadout, but I'll be level 30 and then able to repeat the raid on hard a lot easier.

I honestly don't think the rewards are worth the effort required when you have 5 level 29s on your team. Especially considering the last 2 times I've cheesed him from a checkpoint I got nothing that was hard mode specific. How gutted will you be if after a week of playing and 15 + hours, you too get nothing ?

I think most of us have got to a point where we can do the normal mode raid in about an hour. The only thing preventing you from doing that in hard mode is the no revives, and the stupid 33% damage debuff you get from being level 29.

I try to have at least half of the people as level 30s for the same reasons - the problem we have is thats its hard to luck into level 30 and hard raid is a good way to do it, but once people are 30 and have the hard raid specific items theres little there to keep them trying it when the normal raid will do for drops - so those up-and-coming level 29s have to be utilised to make up numbers.

Most interesting thing I notice is people get very complacent when over-levelled on the normal raid that when they try hard raid (or the normal with a 26 alt) they seem to forget the naunces or plainly haven't understood them...

A raid experienced level 29 is very useful, but experience isnt just the number of raids you've completed

No, no - thanks for being there as it was just cobbled together at the last minute as I really didn't want to leave that checkpoint to be refreshed without at least coming up with a logical method to get him down.

Really think it was the break and fresh mindset that made it work - I'm hoping this week it can be done in one sitting, just easier for all.

I know you aren't sure about Fridays but if you can make the raid let me know - I have a feeling spaces will open up with COD fever :p

I don't have an issue with them at all - just something I've noticed when I had my Hunter raid-worthy. I guess its because Bladedancers aren't really that useful unless its crowd control which is limited in the raid to places where a decent primary/secondary is more than acceptable. As you said Gunslingers seem to have more utility dealing with shielded stuff and the oracles (best class inside portals tbh)

The issue I can see is that hunters just don't have the ability to create an overshield like Titans and Warlocks can do as part of their perks - they also don't have a void class. It just makes them a bit more fragile when the going gets tough and they have very limited defensive capabilities compared to the other classes. Its just that these things tend to show up in something like Hard Raid I guess - also all the popular cheese methods don't help their cause either :p

But that's why I'm here organising rather than worrying about PUGs

How did Hard go in the end Zoomee?

We did well without any Warlocks in the end - Atheon was as awful as always - was so close the first few times - that break helped! :p

Do you think theyll fix the Atheon bugs? Kinda puts me off raiding as its the only bit that causes a major issue which cant be fixed with skill/experience. Like to try and do that raid without dying trophy but kinda pointless with how the game is at the moment...

Once I get a Titan helm I dont think Ill be doing much hard raiding - only really missing the fatebringer and the raid fusion rifle (something foil) from that difficultly - I presume the Exotic drop table is unaffected by difficultly (other than the mytoclast)

I happy to run it twice if that helps and bring a 30 that's done it to help improve our chances - sure Reeve could do the same - just need 6 people that happy to do Atheon twice though...
