You can shoot rockets safely from inside the shield, I've never had many issues with it. The problem comes from everyone strafing and not sitting still while shooting Atheon. No need to strafe as the relic shield protects you :)

I would also like to point out to those who don't know, that your grenades will recharge almost immediately with times vengeance on, so spam away! They deal mad amounts of damage to Atheon.

Ive never used rockets in the shield after being told they dont go through - I swear Ive seen people die using them but maybe someone was in their way :confused:

Its pretty much childs play now compared to last weeks - the defend wave is far shorter - the Legions length seems to be about the same and just as random how long it lasts...

You still up for getting a hard group together again tonight with me, Rob etc.. or are you doing it with the other group ?

I think this is a bug. They should fire through the shield, but there have been a few reports of instances where something's glitched and they didn't (the first group to get a clear without deaths failed due to this bug)

....thought these reports may be from people shooting at someone in front of them and blaming the shield ;)
 
Yeah if there are any groups looking to do the raid, preferably on hard, and need an extra man, add me: Videotrap (PSN). I haven't done it on hard before and am still only L28, but I have fully levelled up weapons and TBH normal mode is becoming too easy, even with the teleport nerf on Atheon.

WTF is up with Raid drops. I've done the raid at least a half dozen times now and I've not got much armour or weapons, but the few times I have, it's been two of the same items: two of the same shotguns and two of the same gauntlets.

Try and keep doing normal for the armour to at least reach 29, otherwise, you'll be doing 66% less damage to them (word going around is each level you're under the recommended level, it's a 33% penalty on damaging enemies / receiving 33% more damage)

I'll be doing it at level 29 tonight, will let you know if I dropped my pants and bend over.
 
A lot of 28s dont like using shards on non-raid legendaries. IIRC youll need to do 4 shard upgrades (24 shards) on the 2 non-raid armour with an fully upgraded exotic and raid armour to hit 29...

I have a helm (L), a pair of gauntlets (E), a chest (R) and a pair of boots (L).
The helm is the only 1 not fully levelled (3 final slots not levelled yet) and my warlock just got into Level 29.
 
My Titan has a E head, L hands, R chest and L legs and the two L pieces needed 2 slots each filled though perhaps only one needed two - I was in a rush to get him ready for hard raid so probably wasted shards...

Still 18 shards is a lot to waste when hoping for a raid/exotic replacement...

If I'm around and Mrs is busy I'd be happy to go but I'm lvl 27 hunter so depends if you are going normal or not. Done up to last boss but not downed him yet only done raid twice with same group.

Probably go normal tonight and maybe try hard at the weekend. We've done it a few times before but suspect we'll need to acclimatise to the new Atheon mechanics! Will add you later and invite if you're on. :)
 
Got myself a 29 titan and friend a 28 warlock. Both been through multiple times, looking for a group to run with this week.

Also got a save at Athens hard mode if anyone fancies it.

I don't see it as a waste as I only invested in the boots because it gives extra AR ammo, which is useful for PvP + Atheon Epilogue, so even if I get the Raid Boots, which likely to be Heavy Ammo, I can still use it on PvP (if Iron Banner works properly).

Raid armour isn't the best, especially in PvP, my hunter's new gauntlet is very Raid bias, I mean, I'll be able to super charge after killing a pretorian, whoop-di-doo beyond Venus raid :(
