Does anyone fancy doing atheon hard mode at some point? I have been given a save point at him.

I heard you can do atheon hard and then go back and get all the loot on normal mode.

Go in there with lvl 20 blues and without watching youtube vids or reading strat.

You'll eat your words.

World 1st clear took a ridiculous amount of time.

Boss fights took our group 2 hrs to learn on 1st attempts.

Sure it's easy when you know what you're doing, but before the strats became wide-spread and before everyone running with fully upgraded legendaries/exotics, it was actually pretty damn challenging.

can you imagine what that first group went through when "marked for negation" came up after stepping in the green goo for the first time.

Its only easy now because everybody knows it.

"What are these balls of light and why do they make organ noises?"
"This is easy, if we lure the Minotaur to this conflux it just disappears."
"What's that shield thing you're holding and where can I get one?"
"What's the best weapon to use on Gorgons?"
"Why is my screen going black? BUNGIEEEE."

@Hutchy - did you ever get a response from anyone who has the experience to lead this?

Does anyone have any guides for how to do Templar and Atheon that I can read (not watch) at work? Since they've changed Atheon to port people at random I'd be a bit worried about what I'm supposed to do with the relic. I did get ported by mistake last week and ended up with the relic, I didn't have a clue what to do with it, the screen went blank and we all died :p

Haha, mine was... "oh hell yes, a chest! *opens* " everyone else a mile behind "don't open the.... oh ffs"

and also, "oooh a glowing shield thing *picks up*" everyone else "don't pick up the... ah fack, everyone run, drop the shield drop the shield", me "i don't know how... oh i fell off the edge :("
 
Just to let people know they've made the Conflux part of the Templar fight much much easier on Hard mode. Kinda of a joke how easy it is now...

Minotaurs now seem to spawn as pairs though and Hobgoblins seems to snapshot far quicker and are more aware of you it seems.

The Atheon fight is so annoying as the bugs with the luck you need inside the portals makes a consistent run very very difficult. I'd recommend all using tracking rockets when you get out as it should take a third of his health in each wave. Don't rocket inside the relic shield though :p

I still haven't got past him yet - if you guys are worried about the cost of heavy ammo, remember Xur sells 5 packs for a strange coin...
