Detailing Stages

I've read that most cannons consider low pressure to be 90 bar, the one I use has 70 and I still get a good foam. Although the foam used makes a difference because Bilt Hamber for example isn't known for being foamy.

i am thinking, with "less" pressure, you need a foam that will produce "more" foam than others

like for example we know the BH auto foam/Touchless doesn't foam, but the cleaning power is really good

so using that in a low pressure lance, isn't really going to work

have a look at this video from 1:30

Yeah, it's the Greenworks, and I had the Worx 629E before that. I will say that the Greenworks bucket when full of water is ridiculously heavy, heavier than a 5 gallon bucket full of water. Other than that it's a fantastic portable/battery-powered unit, I was lucky though as found a used one on eBay for £125 including battery and charger.

I don't know if you noticed but this spec of dirt...

Came off when I rinsed the car down after applying Polar Blast and leaving it for 10 minutes. I don't know whether that was because of the Polar Blast or it would have come off anyway. I'd like to think it was the cleaning power of the Polar Blast.

Nice foam! I’m happy enough with my hydroshot and I presume applying snow foam without a higher pressure washer will still have some cleansing effects even without all that foam!

I'm not entirely sure, I think there are arguments that the amount of foam isn't the most important thing when it comes to cleaning ability - I would think Bilt Hamber's reputation would back that up. I'm just using Polar Blast as I bought a 2.5ltr bottle of it come time ago, and then I'll jump over to BH Touch-Less that I also have.

However, the Greenworks is ridiculously expensive for what it is. Brand new the unit is .c £149 (can go down to £100 to £125 on deal) but that's without any batteries or charger - being 40V batteries they're expensive and you need min 1 x 4aH. You're looking at £250 to £300 for the unit with 1 x 4aH battery and charger

You're not far off. I've priced one up its £ 296.14 inc VAT for a Greenworks GDC40, a Greenworks 40V 4.0Ah Battery and a Greenworks Battery Charger G40UC.

Pricey just to have proper foam when my Hydroshot does almost everything else I want. I'll have to think about it.

@Mekrel Do you know what Watt Hour Wh the Greenworks 40V 4.0Ah Battery is? It should say on the battery itself.

If I do go ahead with the purchase I’ll need to order a battery from eBay and get it shipped to an address in Portsmouth who will forward it on to me in Jersey. This will cost me an extra £ 9.99 and I won’t get the VAT off the battery.

As it’s a battery Amazon won’t ship anything with a battery in it directly to me. I’ve got a £ 25 gift card to use up on Amazon and with the VAT off the charger and unit itself I’m looking at £ 240 all in.

I’ve looked into the foam cannon and I believe the Greenworks uses the 1/4 quick connector as well.

It's 144Wh, just an FYI but I would stay away from any unofficial battery as I ordered one from eBay and I've had issues where the machine runs for 5 seconds before cutting out. Usually, I don't bother with unofficial batteries but the listing stated it used Sony or LG cells and had all protection circuitry.

The Greenworks isn't 1/4 quick connect out of the box, but the MJJC Nilfisk/Kew/Alto adapter fits the lance. I've replaced the gun setup by buying a M22 to M22 hose and a stubby gun with 1/4 quick connector.

The battery I was looking at on eBay was directly from Greenworks themselves. However if the battery is over 100Wh I will most likely be charged for a dangerous goods notice costing an extra £ 25.

Just to confirm it does use the 1/4 quick connector for the foam cannon connection?

See my edit regarding the 1/4 quick connect. Annoyingly, the new update for my phone is making the keyboard enter new line returns hence why my post was gigantic.

Thanks do you have a link to the adapter needed which fits the 1/4 Lance? Also maybe I should buy two 2.0Ah batteries instead of the one 4.0Ah which should be under 100Wh thereby avoiding the extra £ 25 expense.

Select Nilkfisk/Kew/Alto from the drop down.

The adapter definitely fits (I have one) but it can be a little difficult to remove, mainly as it's difficult to push the lance/adapter down to then twist it out as the snowfoam cannon itself swivels. I did find an easier way though and I think it involved removing the cannon from the fitting (just need to turn the black nut which is easy enough).

If you do go through with getting the Greenworks let me know and I'll send you the adapter (just cover postage), but let me know before the 9th as I'm flying to South Africa and have the adapter scheduled to go live on eBay as a listing then. I don't need the adapter now I've switched everything to 1/4 quick connects.
