This pretty much sums up my thoughts after playing the 2 open betas and is why I didn’t buy the full game as I couldn’t justify 70 for what it is.We are a week in and for me personally the cracks are starting to show. The campaign was epic, not question about it, but the experience 50+ starting to wain.
Leveling above 50 is slow, dungeons are repetitive (kill all, collect the things and place them on the thing, farm the anima, rescue the hostages etc), world bosses don't spawn that often (I get maybe 1-2 kills a day at most), helltide is just open world farming with an added loot chest. Then we have nightmare dungeons, as above with dungeons but with added difficulty/frustration as many of the mods are just cookie cutter mobs do more damage, or you do less damage.
I have currently played druid and barb to 73 and 65 respectively, I have also just started a necro but its only level 20. There seems to be a handful of builds that just work, but many of the alternatives are just inferior to the point your daft for even trying them.
On that note the PoE2 teaser > D4 in all possible metrics, it looks better, the combat is vastly improved and I know the endgame in PoE is just insanely good.
I agree with most of what you've said - I'm still having fun despite these problems and my aim is to get a character to lvl 100. But I don't think I can be bothered doing the renown grind every season ; it's dull and repetitive even doing it once. Build diversity is an issue ( viable builds, that is ) and I highlighted this during the beta. Expect big nerf bat swings for several months at least, which given Blizzard's record over the last decade will probably make things worse not better. Some systems are fundamentally broken eg. resistances - it's a wasted stat roll on any item. Armour and damage reduction stats are king. Itemisation is quite simplistic at its core ; it's functional but there isn't much nuance or choice. Also, respeccing from mid game onwards to a different build is punishing, not so much because of the gold cost, but because of the level scaling mechanic. If you decide to switch your build, a lot of character power comes from equipment and associated aspects. It will take a player some time to build these up ... but the game gives zero breathing room as there isn't any method to take on easier content whilst gearing up. Even in WT1 all monsters will scale to your level, and of course, on anything less than WT3 loot will be inferior as it's not sacred/ancient.We are a week in and for me personally the cracks are starting to show. I haven't fought any of the world bosses for a few days so wasn't aware of that change. But, talking about lack of inventory space, Blizzard, can we please have a separate tab for gems ? Gems are already a bit underwhelming in their utility ( they nerfed the bonuses they granted during beta ) and only sell for a few gold at a vendor. Plus, as you can unsocket them from items, once you have them that's it. No point in picking up any more. But during that "collecting" phase they sure do complicate inventory management.I don't like what they have done to world bosses, I fine with the level increase as they were too easy, but that change has made the weekly cache basically useless as it is now tied to the level range of the boss.
I have 3 grand caches in my stash now, from level 80-82, if it takes me a month to get level 80 thats more stash space taken up unnecessarily and when space is so limited already, it's just an idiotic change and something to be expected from Blizzard these days.
Request sent (Crank#2218) would appreciate a spot if there's any space.Friend invite sent from Rangus to everyone except @NeilFaz , need the numbers in your id.

I'm not surprised the game feels repetitive if you have played the amount you presumably have to have 2 reasonably high level characters @MadMossy! You've got to have played something like 10 hours a day since release to hit those levels right? I think even a flawless game would quickly feel stale playing it that amount for me!
Bloody hell which pubs and restaurants do you go to?The campaign was epic and worth it considering how long I have played I more than got my monies worth.
£70 isn't really that much considering, you can spend then on a single meal out, or a night down the pub with ease.
I'll have to wait and see if PoE2 is for me, I got really bored of PoE becoming such a speedfest, was like everything was all about how quick , I used to say that PoE was ARPGs for the ADHD Michael Bay folks. All big explosions and go faster, go faster. If PoE2 is slower gameplay then I'd be up for it but will wait and see. Running about at hyper speed, rushing just isnt an appeal to me, its one of the reasons that I always thought that Grim Dawn was far better than PoE. Which probably part explains why after almost 50 hours into Diablo 4 my highest character is still only level 31On that note the PoE2 teaser > D4 in all possible metrics, it looks better, the combat is vastly improved and I know the endgame in PoE is just insanely good.
