** Diablo 4 Thread **

I'll have to wait and see if PoE2 is for me, I got really bored of PoE becoming such a speedfest, was like everything was all about how quick , I used to say that PoE was ARPGs for the ADHD Michael Bay folks. All big explosions and go faster, go faster. If PoE2 is slower gameplay then I'd be up for it but will wait and see. Running about at hyper speed, rushing just isnt an appeal to me, its one of the reasons that I always thought that Grim Dawn was far better than PoE. Which probably part explains why after almost 50 hours into Diablo 4 my highest character is still only level 31 :D

PoE is only about rushing if you want to rush. If you wanna go slow, the game still functions just as well. For me if I can go faster I will. It's just a part of power increase. I'd like to go faster in D4 but the mechanics aren't having it :D

Getting absolutely slaughtered in one of the earlier dungeons, its the one where you get your protective bubble thing, the dungeon boss is hammering me, first go i very nearly killed him but now hes demolishing me lol

Im level 11 i think and thought this would be enough to easily defeat this dungeon? maybe im just poop at the game or something but man im finding this bit hard :(

Only on wt1 as well

Early game is brutal on some classes and until your around level 15-20 some dungeons are just impossible, this becomes much easier once you finish the campaign and unlock your renown rewards.

Starting a new character with 10 skill points at level 1 makes it so much smoother. Having 24 paragon points 50 also means you can flesh out your first board right away for a huge power spike.

Back when I played PoE I tried to force it to play slow but it was like everything was designed with the aim of being played fast, so as I played I felt like I was being pushed into playing fast, for example I'd clear every nook and cranny of a zone, then I'd step into a side zone and start clearing every nook and cranny of the side zone, now if I did that area fast enough when I returned to the first zone it would all still be cleared and I'd have the map visible etc, but if I took my time with the side zone by the time I got back to the first zone all the mobs had respawned and the map was all fog of war again. Thats one example of how I felt pushed to play fast. I want time to explore everywhere, open every box, check every corner, rather than having to zip through zones otherwise they reset.

If PoE 2 doesnt do that, if it lets me play and 100% explore each zone without resetting the place I've just come from and if the skills arent designed around mowing through mobs as fast as possible in a mass of particle effects covering the screen (ie. If its more like Grim Dawn than PoE 1) then I'd definitely be up for playing it.

The campaign one with the armoured knight that comes to help? If so it’s all about avoid the pools on the floor, they wreck you. Dodge them and it just time to burn boss down.

I was level 28 before doing that one (on Tier 2) , I didnt purposefully wait until 28 to do it, its just that I ended up being lvl 28 from doing all the side quests and aspect dungeons and events dotted around the world as I went.

Thanks for replies people, the dungeon is in the very first area where you start so thought it should be easy lol guess i might have to wait a while and come back to it, can you team up in dungeons? or is it only in open world?

Thanks

Hi, have applied to join the ocuk clan (Mullins#2559), I played d3 in the ocuk clan for a number of seasons on and off, if someone can accept the invite that would be great, thank you.

No, the dungeon im on about is in the very first area where you start the game, there is no knight that helps, you are on your own, there are pools on the ground though, you have to put 2 boxes either side of a chained statue, then click on the statue and the boss appears.

You must be new to the arpg genre, in poe for example at league launches I'd easily put in 16 hours or more on day 1.

In D4 I no lifed the hell out of early access, putting in roughly 100 hours since the 2nd June.

Still rookie numbers compared to some. I'm at over 15,000 hours for poe since 2013. Yet I'm not bored with it in the slightest.
New? Nah. Played tonnes of Diablo3, plenty of PoE and Wolcen. Not hardcore by any means though.

I'd say 100 hours in the first week of launch when the game is still finding it's feet is pretty significant, so maintain I'm not surprised you are noticing issues more casual players aren't. PoE has had years of polish so I can believe it doesn't feel stale to someone who enjoys it over a period of years. By no means a dig at you chosing to play this way, each to their own. Hopefully the end game content gets tuned over time to the point where it can appeal to more casual players and those that want to play a large amount.

Started this as another retailer sent me 2 codes by mistake sold one on here as its not my type of game but when the 2nd code arrived thought why not. Aint a clue what im going on it but i will stick with it a bit

Still love. There’s enough content there to get me to the seasons.

Game is only out the gate and I think it’s amazing what they have in it so far

Considering the state of some of the games that have been released I have hardly come across any issues.

Only problem I've had since the 2nd of June was last night when it disconnected a number of players and was unable to get back on.

Logged in this morning without any issues at all.

We are a week in and for me personally the cracks are starting to show. The campaign was epic, not question about it, but the experience 50+ starting to wain.

Leveling above 50 is slow, dungeons are repetitive (kill all, collect the things and place them on the thing, farm the anima, rescue the hostages etc), world bosses don't spawn that often (I get maybe 1-2 kills a day at most), helltide is just open world farming with an added loot chest. Then we have nightmare dungeons, as above with dungeons but with added difficulty/frustration as many of the mods are just cookie cutter mobs do more damage, or you do less damage.

I have currently played druid and barb to 73 and 65 respectively, I have also just started a necro but its only level 20. There seems to be a handful of builds that just work, but many of the alternatives are just inferior to the point your daft for even trying them.

On that note the PoE2 teaser > D4 in all possible metrics, it looks better, the combat is vastly improved and I know the endgame in PoE is just insanely good.

The game needs multiplayer

Where are my 10 man raids

Where is my 15v15 pvp

Where is my 5 man dungeons

Blizzard are really bad at implementing multiplayer into Diablo games
