** Diablo 4 Thread **

I blasted it for a week and now haven't been back for a week, the more I think about the game being away from it, the more my opinion of it drops.

Hopefully the seasons bring interesting content, but the scaling will just put me right off as it stands.
I hate the fov of it. Wished it was more zoomed out.

Hate how I can't use wasd to move my character

It's alright but not a masterpiece
Yeah, I'll agree its not a masterpiece for sure, mind you I dont think any hack and slash arpg is a masterpiece. They're pretty much lowest common denominator games, click fests with a mass of particle effects and explosions. The gaming equivalent of a popcorn movie. Fun though :)

Sounds like I'm the only person still having fun with it :)

I've enjoyed it but it becomes a slog, I've yet to get my mount and I expect that will resolve some of my issues but it currently feels like a chore moving between objectives.

Part of that is my own fault for not focusing more on the story, the side quests keep distracting me. :D

Never really understood content like seasons. Doesn't it turn into a slog when you have to do another char every 3 months?

Yeah doing character "wipes" like that is **** and the justifications for it seems more about lazy development than actual gameplay reasons. I was kind of half-tempted by the game until I saw that, that and the price just doesn't "feel" like good value to me even though I'd probably end up spending that much on the game ultimately and have spent far more on other games.

The mount considerably speeds exploring up. As it gets a boost button too like the horses on Zelda (three boosts)

I'm glad I held off, it looks like the grind/burnout factor has hit a lot of people after less than a fortnight. It definitely looks like a casual-friendly simplified ARPG, that can only really be enjoyed to its fullest if you can no life it, sadly the huge casual crowd of gamers have jobs and responsibilities. Typical Blizzard, that's what happened to WOW, endless grinding of crappy systems, I mean it's clearly not Lost Ark, a totally waste my time grindy gamba game but it is somewhere on the spectrum.

My mate crumbled and bought it after a day or two, I knew he would, very enthusiastic early on, already started another character after getting to lvl 38 (Druid) new char (Necro). I'll see how far he manages to get before his interest wanes.

Yeah, the game is grindy but I enjoyed the campaign and some of the map exploration (although I hope I don't have to do it ever again). The problem I find is that due to the level scaling it doesn't matter how much you play the gameplay doesn't really change much and you never feel strong at least this is the case for me so far, I am only lvl 58 so far. I much prefer the progression system in POE and the fact that you can trade items which are needed for a lot of the builds to work.
Hopefully some of the current issues like, mob density, too much backtracking etc will be eventually addressed.

That doesn't make sense, at least not from mine and others experiences of D4. The end game has the major issues so no lifing it would make it even less enjoyable as there's no real end game cycle currently.

MadMossy on here likes to pump crazy hours into arpgs and he admitted it became less enjoyable the more he played.

Do rarer drops scale with world tiers? I'm guessing it does logically. Been playing WT1 to try and race to 50 but thinking i could try WT2 to get better loot?

Think it’s suppose to from what I was reading, I’m currently on WT2 lvl 33 and already had quite a few legendary drops.

World tier 3 and 4 give access to sacred and ancestral items respectively which have better stats than their WT1/2 equivalents. Also, in WT3 and 4 there are unique legendary items.
