Yeah first day will be rough. Mornings in the UK best as our American brethren are in bed.
Was map pinning and navigation in D3? The penny has only just dropped, that they will have removed the world map overlay because they have waypoints...
I've not seen much on what endgame will be. Does anyone know if they're going to go into raids heavily, ala LostArk or mmo's?
I don't understand the appeal of these top down ARPG games, and they're all the same
I dont think there is a character wipe between the betas, after beta of course but think I remember reading that the early beta characters will carry over to the open beta weekend.Any ideas if they'll do a character reset at the next beta / launch?
Reached lvl 23 with my Sorceress, won't get a chance to play again tomorrow I expect but should get the beta bonuses
Yes, characters will carry over to the open beta next weekend. Have a lvl 25 Sorc and Rogue now ; out of the 2, Rogue has been the most fun despite 2-3 of the Sorc skills being OP. I'm going to try Barbarian tomorrow, but from what I've seen it needs some buffing. Next week I'll try the Necromancer class first - not a huge fan of the Druid shapeshifting motif, so it will be my last pick.I dont think there is a character wipe between the betas, after beta of course but think I remember reading that the early beta characters will carry over to the open beta weekend.
Yup, hardcore right from the start, we always play hardcore modes. We die... a lot...but we never get riled by it, the hilarity that comes from the panic in someones voice when one of us is yelling, I'm going to die ! I'm going to die !! creates enough funny moments to outweigh the deaths. We tend to all have a designated character that we only play when each of us is online, that way we can all level up together. So we end up having designated solo characters, designated duo characters, trio characters and quad characters and then backup characters in the event that one of us dies and needs to use a backup character to get back to the right level to group up in the designated duo/trio/quad group again.Btw Tombstone, at release are you planning on playing hardcore mode right off the bat ? Some of those dungeons ( for aspect farming ) are quite tough ...
They are not really all the same and peoples tastes are different from each other and can change over time. There are months where I love a good ARPG and months where I rather do something else. For me when I get the right character with the right combo there is a certain flow to the combat that is fun and pleasant. For D4 I picked Crossbows as normally I liked ranged but it didn't feel right, started again and went to a Lighting and imminently it was fun. Perhaps you are playing the wrong character with the wrong powers. Or it just isn't the right type of game for you.I don't understand the appeal of these top down ARPG games, and they're all the same

In the end, I manged to find a good ranged build for my Rogue. The skills I settled on were Heartseeker, Barrage, Dash, Dark shroud, Shadow Imbuement and Rain of Arrows. I also had a couple of spare skill points I was experimenting with and placed them in the weapon mastery passive.Crossbow felt really weak. Managed to respec about 6 different times on the rogue I was playing. Dual daggers felt really good and surprisingly effective up close. Although very difficult to solo bosses without kiting from a distance as you don't want to be a rogue if they catch you
Blizzard have done a good job with the atmosphere this time. Soundtrack and sound effects all work incredibly well. The lag is horrendous and performance is choppy in places. Was in a medium size dungeon last night that 50% of the time hit 34 fps. I've been averaging 155fps with a cap of 165 for my monitor in most cases.
One thing that was annoying was that in certain dungeons there was no 'return to start of dungeon' thing to click and often the npc you needed to talk to next was back at the start. Would be nice if they could add this in.
