** Diablo 4 Thread **

I played from 6pm without getting kicked. Although certain times the lag was crazy :o

Tried to make a purely blood focused necro but although it was cool I couldn't exactly face plant dungeons without being quite careful. Was fun though, stacking attack speed and having a strong wave clear.

If it says restricted area and teleports me out that means it's not in the game right I have a quest to unlock the spirit boons for druid but the area it's in says it's restricted

oh some quests can't be completed as they will take you out the beta area

Signing off for the night. Reached lvl 20 with my Necromancer ... still feels very OP in most situations. Only thing I had difficulty with was soloing a stronghold ; final boss would kill my minions and there's no corpses to raise them again. This limitation probably makes the Sorceror top dog for boss killing ( mostly due to the hydra which can't be killed by monsters ).

40 minute wait to login, game crashed just after character selection.

Another 35 minute wait, crashed again at the same point.

Not a good start.

When I made my character it seemed to stop with no UI but I could still see the character and pan around. Just wait and eventually it loads, took a little while.

accessible like D3, open world like lost ark, darker story like D2 / GrimDawn
awesome just tried it myself and i get the same impression, the story is deffo a lot darker.

there is no queue at the moment btw :)

heres my gpuz with max things every thing hit on a radeon sapphire pulse 5700

It's not that, first time it said no GPU detected. 2nd time is said Ran out out memory (32gb PC with only 23% used at the time), 3rd time it's said files are corrupt and I need to re-scan them..

I've given up. I've spend 2 hours and not got into the game once. I guess I won't be pre-purchasing.

So got necro to 25, piece of cake like the sorcerer, got druid to 13, quit playing.

Necro and Sorc are the only strong classes, Rogue is good but not on the same level as Necro/Sorc.

Barb and Druid.......

Are absolute garbage. After the first weekend I was hopeful as I wanted to play druid or necro as I loved it in D2, while necro was easy to level, I don't enjoy how it feels to play. The druid was just horrible, does no damage, feels clunky as hell, tried numerous builds lightning, earth and werewolf/bear neither felt good to play.

Yes I know its only level 25 blah blah blah, but if a game doesn't hook me in the early levels, I'm not sticking around for the rest of it, as it stands it's a nope, after spending 8-10 hours more in the beta with the new classes, I am baffled at how Blizzard could have ****** something so simple up so badly.

Literally all they had to do was D2R with a new campaign with a few tweaks and modernisation of systems and mechanics.

Here's to year 24 of D2.

Pretty much agree with all you say. Haven't tried the Druid yet but from watching others play the class yesterday it didn't look a great experience. That said, closed beta testers comment that a couple of its builds excel in the end game. But, as you say, if the initial hook isn't there it won't draw players in.

To be fair to you , you've said throughout the thread that you didnt think D4 would click with you and at most all you might do is the odd season here and there but you'd have no long term investment in the game, so from that point of view its delivered pretty much what you thought it would for you.

But on the plus side, thats the beauty of open betas, you've been able to confirm your suspicions that its not a game for you without having to spend a penny of your money on it. Its why I think all major games should have an open beta, its a pity that more games dont do it.

I manged to get in a play a hour or so and it's not bad, never played a Diablo game before, some performance issues but may be interesting. Just wondering if it's worth playing Diablo 3 for the back story

druid was pretty fun up to maybe 18 then it needs good aspects to keep feeling ok. Some skills are really fun just doing a bit too low damage

sorc and now necro are totally busted and need balanced tbh

The big concern I have now is just how RNG it is to get the correct aspect drops for the balanced classes, drop rates are tuned up for the beta so in live they will feel even worse for longer for most people

The more I play Druid, the more I'm agreeing a bit it doesn't feel great so far. There's some great powers but I feel I'm taking a more damage and killing things slower than any of the other classes so far. Of course balance is a simple thing for them to tweak and levelling is not indicative of end game etc. etc.

I got necro to 25 last night, felt a bit chaotic compared to my frost sorc hydra build as even though I had 7 skellies and 5 mages in my army, they would all just attack whatever they felt like.

When butcher showed up it became a struggle to kill him because he's capable of killing my summons and you can't really stop to summon more.

So far think I prefer the sorc feels more controlled, though hydra was pretty strong and it may get nerfed. I also had some of the same issues with the summons as I had with d2 necro, if they die you're kind of helpless to do much.
