How to do you get rid of the bars and display a number in that screenshot on your ping?

Just thought that all this talk of a boycott has came to nothing? Many who said they would boycott the game have went out and bought it...seems silly to me but thats just my opinion
 
And you'd be correct. However we have a couple of pages talking about what might have been achieved other than stopping sales, intentionally or not. Worth a read.
 
it cant be an epic total fail as they havent sold as many copies as COD4, so those of us sticking to our guns have made a slight difference even if only small.

heres what happens from what ive noticed with a lot of clan members and friends i know who have had any problems.

one they cant connect to a party
they get kicked out of lobby
they have a too old pc takes forever to load
crashes on launch


most of these issues are easily solved in five minutes or having a reasonable enough pc to play the game . not being smart but some people play on the very bare minimum and have trouble playing cod 4 on reasonable setting let alone this.

bad connection or lag outs.

the amount of people i know who have a bad connection or what i would consider a slightly higher than average ping even before launching the game is there main problem. this is not the game makers fault if your on wireless , live in a cave , out in the sticks or you just have a 512mb connection.

now these same people who i know when thy play cod 4 have at least a 100 ping sit there wondering why they cant connect as easily to someone with a 30 ping :confused::p its not hard to understand why.

trouble operating steam

its not to hard to ooperate steam but a lot struggle at even the simplest tasks like joining a game. sending invites so simple yet the amount of time i say on ts " just shift and tab except / join is unreal . you dont even need to do that just right click there name and join how hard is it.

also cause some peeps pcs are from 98 they wonder why there game hasnt loaded in less than a nano second :D

so all in all if you get everything sorted running sweet its not bad at all and is in fact a very good game.

if i launch a game of say groundwork now ill be in a game in 5 secs playing a full game no problems.

the cod series has taken a turn for the worse and im sorry to say no matter how hard you shout doesnt matter now the connsole boys shout louder than us and they will rule the roost.

so its either play or dont play. or sit and play mine sweeper till battlefield comes along :D ohh.. a lot more big games you might be waiting for are going the same way so your gunna be a minesweeper pro :D:D

Tbh the amount of people complaining about bad lag and endless other problems with the game due to router/port conflicts, steam conflicts etc. I think it's obviously more than a select few who live in a cave or haven't bothered to have a 5 minute fiddle with the settings. It's simply a poorly ported console game that they haven't optimized for the pc.

I will wait for other games, I'm currently waiting for my l4d2 box to arrive on friday, and then after christmas there's a bunch of games that I'm waiting for. So for me missing out on a poor console port is quite easy. I know I won't enjoy the game because of the changes made, I don't need to try it. However, even if I didn't know - there's no way I would have shelled out 35 quid to 'try' it
 
In some aspects its good idea but I find it a little annoy with the set time limit, CoD4 you could have an awesome game for ages but seems now you just drift between good and crap games then half way the host quits.. 9 times out of the 10 it doesn't find a suitable replacement.

Bring back Dedi servers!
 
me for one has not bought a console game, I dont have a console therefore wont be buying a console ported game.

Fixed. Well gee whiz I knew I we was hanging out in the ocuk forums for a reason. However surely switching on the computer should be at the start of that list? Secondly you haven’t addressed how to get over the 9v9 limit bug and the fact that it’s the hosts ping that matters?

Strange the only one I can think of is AvP and they’re just dodging the issue like crazy mainly because of the fuss of MW2 so i bet theyll happily announce support – so what ‘big games’ are you referring too? And another small point, minesweeper might not be necessary as there are a couple of other tichy games between now and BC, perhaps like L4D2, Max Payne 3, Stalker COP, and Bioshock 2 not to mention APB and Starcraft II and Battlefield 3 and STO around that time - so if you don’t mind, I wont abandon my principles, sell out and then try and convince myself that the reason im not enjoying the game is because I think the way to launch steam is to hit two sticks together and grunt. Thanks.

Principles are all well and good but when you're missing out on what is still an amazing game, it's a bit stupid really.

Buy it for the SP, you won't be disappointed.

Not really, what's stupid is if you disagree with something but support it anyway. If he doesn't agree with the game or something related on principle, he'd be a weak willed pathetic waste of space if he then went and bought it anyway.
