Digg.com - Modern Warfare 2 boycott.

New development studio recruited for another CoD game according to EuroGamer. The more interesting quote was from the LA Times link within the story:

One person close to the company said it also was considering adapting Call of Duty as a massively multi-player online world. The genre, in which Activision's Blizzard Entertainment subsidiary is a leader, requires huge upfront investments but can be very profitable as players pay a monthly subscription fee.

No surprises then given what we've been hearing lately from various gaming sites. Of course, it could just be another theatre of war most likely Vietnam or games for mobile devices.

lol what a sad turn for the franchise. Made into a pitiful console MMO.

Don't worry on the next instalment they'll be adding an awesome new feature!

Monthly billing!

that's right now you'll be able to pay more than once to host your own games!

How cool is that!

Still havn't bought or even bothered looking for a torrent lmao

Weird, I've pre orderded every CoD months before release.

Except CoD2 actually, as it was seen a disgrace by vcod and uo players xD

Got an email from an online retailer advertisig MW2, when i clicked the link there were over 150 reviews of the game giving it 1 out of 5 stars. All legitimately complaining (since they've now played it for themselves) about the eipc failure of matchmaking, high pings, disconnections and general suckage-ness!

Well done I.W...... International ******! (begins with 'W' :))

Well, I've been playing loads of multiplayer and the only problem I had was the other day just before Left 4 Dead 2 was released. User error imo. :p

The boycott was akin to cutting one's nose, ears, lips and balls off. The next game probably won't even come to pc now. Morons.

Why? I don't want to buy a game missing fundemental features that PC gamers have had for years, that includes a pathetically short single player (although very very good fun).

Yes I played it... on the computer of someone silly enough to buy it :P.

They can take their game to the consoles, I certainly won't miss it or the way they have turned their backs upon the player base that supported them when they started out :).

If its a choice between being a moron or a gullible sap who who will simply roll over and lap up what ever rubbish they spoon feed you without questioning what drivel you are paying for, then I am more than happy being a moron.

Pucker up and start mooing cash cow, its milking time.

Think about it a bit, if someone has become upset at the direction the PC version has gone enough to refuse to buy it, why would they be upset at the next one being console only? :p

I find it hard to trust them after all they've pulled.

I'd rather not see it on PC in this shape anymore.
Same really - Im quite happy to see the franchise go away - its not like this wasnt on the cards when they announced COD3 was console only...

Really couldnt give a damn of not playing a sub-par quality game on the PC - if I want a console game I know where to go...

ps3ud0

I'd be glad to see the back of IW/Activision from PC gaming, IW obviously were either under heavy contractual obligations, no spine or even worse, agreed to the Forced DLC Payment/Second Hand Sales destruction. Taking a step backwards to 56k speeds is just ridiculous.
