DirectX 12 Showcase New Features and Benefits of D3D12 API

By the way have you ever noticed how DX11 often runs better than Mantle on highend hardware at high resolutions.

Don't think it does.

i thought the other story on wccf about windows piracy was more telling & that just 5% of their revenue or something comes from china

good point made that they need to look at their global prices etc

It is all down to the NDA and if what is being reported is true, Microsoft lowered the spec, so Maxwell covered all the DX bases basically. Some said nVidia paid M$ off but that is for another debate. If there is anything major in DX12 that I would miss out on, I would just upgrade. No biggie :)

Checked on the Nvidia site, Titan X supports DX12.1 / GTX 980 supports DX12. So Titan X has def had some feature update. Should be set for a while tbh.

Got a linky please Sugar ****?? :D

edit - I think they possibly mean 12_1, which is full DX12 support...

Do you think this means full Direct X 12 support on Titan X but not GTX 980?

*EDIT*

Found this, looks like GM204 supports 12.1 as well,

You must have loved Mantle @4k in BF4 when they had the memory problems, not to mention Thief under the same circumstances.

How are the crossfire profiles for Mantle these days, less said about that the better.:D

Your still wrong Kaap.:p

I Never had any memory problems with 4Gb@1080p.;)

Lack of developers writing CrossFire profiles/developer coding doesn't=DX11>Mantle on the fastest hardware at the highest res, that wasn't what you wrote mate.

Mantle>DX11/

If anything, Mantle dev support(or lack of=SE3 mgpu) should be a warning of what's possibly coming on DX12, waits for devs to implement bug fixes and mgpu support in titles with AMD/Nvidia fixing less on their end.

Just ask Rebbelion, they shouted loudest about what they could do with mgpu and never implemented it, they just walked away.:o

This claims that:

Maxwell holds all the features for level 12.0 and 12.1(came about with the move to DX 11.3 standard)

AMD's current crop of cards do not have conservative rasterization, though no doubt the 300 series will be fully hardware compliant to the highest level (or more).

Don't think AMD have disclosed what current GCN cards can and can't do have they?

The 290 was fully shown closed doors running DirectX 12..

http://www.amd.com/en-us/press-releases/Pages/amd-demonstrates-2014mar20.aspx

The GCN supports DX12 the Xbox One be running it also that is a lower GCN then the R9 290!

All AMD have said so far is Full Support not listed any feature set.

Not wrong at all

For 2160p DX11 is the better all rounder.

Best thing about DX12 is it has killed Mantle off so AMD can get back to spending all their resources writing decent DX drivers.:D

Unfortunately both companies drivers seem to be suffering atm because of their extracurricular adventures in other areas and it only looks to be getting worse as they try and one-up each other endlessly. Not to mention the fools mindlessly whinging for pointless stuff like FPS limiters to be included in the control panel. It can already be done with a util and every line of code added, every new bit of functionality, adds more delays, more bugs to squash, more issues tracked, more distractions.

I'm not optimistic about drivers.
