DirectX 12 Showcase New Features and Benefits of D3D12 API

Works fine here.
Are you leaving out a very specific scenario or are you actually saying that mantle and xfire don't work full stop?
Granted, 4K (or 4K scaling) isn't cool with 4GB and 4xMSAA, but apart from that...

4 up Mantle support is very poor.:)

Check out Beyond Earth for example.

A wise man said the above.

All this boils down to is taking a lucky guess in the dark.

By the way have you ever noticed how DX11 often runs better than Mantle on highend hardware at high resolutions.

Don't think it does.

You must have loved Mantle @4k in BF4 when they had the memory problems, not to mention Thief under the same circumstances.

How are the crossfire profiles for Mantle these days, less said about that the better.:D

Kaap you should know better!

Mantle performs better at high resolution, it just uses a little more video memory, but In return you get a superior gaming experience!

Another thing worth mentioning is there is no such thing as Mantle Crossfire profiles, Crossfire is implemented by the developer not our driver team.

This is the problem the profiles are not being implemented by the game devs so Mantle can not compete with DX11 if it can not use all the cards.

I agree it's disappointing when Crossfire or higher is not implemented, but when it is there is no competition. DX11 does not win under any circumstance if you have the capable hardware.

Providing the game dev has done two things

1. Used Mantle properly in the first place with no memory hogging problems.

2. Ensured that there is multi GPU support.

Unfortunately the game devs have often slipped up on one or both of the above.

I have no problem with using more video memory after seeing the performance benefits on offer, and since getting 8GB cards that's no longer a problem. It should be noted that the memory management has been dramatically reduced now in Frostbite 3.0 so that problem is now gone.

Well, the problem is not gone as you could read in guru site. Many of us have 2 gigs vga ram.

What settings and resolution are you using?

If you're exceeding the video memory buffer lower MSAA or Texture Quality until you don't.

So if I want the extra performance I have to lower the visual quality, meh I have that option with Direct3D lol.

2GB is not a lot of video memory these days to be maxing image quality settings. If you want to do that in Battlefield 4 - Mantle you need a 3GB gpu at 1080P or higher.

I can a test to that; running 7870LE couldn't max things....with 290; everything is maxed now under mantle :) no more memory hitching either.

Medium settings, it is for my friend. Having drops to lower 20 ish. Almost forgot my other friend with 290. Hi's max fps dropped by 50, so basically i got more fps with the same settings at same resolution with gtx 570. We both have low settings, everything set on low.
