DiRT 4

I'm not really that competitive, I had plenty of fun just beating my own personal bests and doing daily events. Didn't even spend that much time in career:p

I'd love to get a wheel but my desk is already pretty cramped with stuff I use for music, a screen with a massive stand and a PS4 so I try to avoid additional gear whenever possible.

EDIT: And the only sensible place I could put the pedals is already taken by my chain of guitar effects and a small amp:p

Been ragging dirt rally non stop since Friday. Had it since early access but only just got in to playing it. It is without doubt a superb game. So I've now pre ordered Dirt 4 and also ordered the TH8A shifter along with the 599XX Evo Alcantara wheel to go with my T300. To say I can't wait until dirt4 is quite an understatement

decided to replay dirt 3 while i wait. what setup does every have there car set at?

Been doing the same but gave up, as l'm chopping at the bit for Dirt 4.:(

Go to steam and check out the Workshop for Dirt Rally plenty of car+ some steering wheel set ups.

What really makes me want to get this are the reports that the cars now feel properly heavy. Is that true? In Dirt Rally they felt unrealistically light.

It's a shame they have never put deformable tracks in so if you're running lower down the order, you'd see groves carved into the track vs starting first on a fresh track.

yes you can feel the weight now of the car. what you wont get from video is the actual " feel " thats what is so good now.

if any of you want to see something just say ill record it

Thanks, I'll be getting the game anyways, love rallying too much to pass it up and DR was great. Besides, this game is fantastic to jump in and out of for short sessions (just like the recently released Tekken) which is ideal for me:p

Just two questions:

-can you rally in heavy rain or thunderstorm?

-I'm guessing Pikes Peak won't be making a return?

DG, 2 questions if i may ?

1, What wheel etc do you use ?

2, Could you post your wheel settings as a base for us to use ? I understand it may not be 'perfect' for everyone (different wheels etc etc) but im sure it'll be better than defaul. Unless of course default is spot on.

i use a modded DFGT with handbrake.
i use default settings on my wheel and all i have adjusted is torque alignment.if this is too strong it makes for a pendulum effect.

rest is default.just tried the escort cossie for the first time ( uploading video) in dirt rally it was a bit of a duffer.which was a shame because its a epic iconic car.in Dirt 4 its sublime.handles so well.also tried the pug 205 t16 earlier.group b is now harder to drive.:D so you really have to drive well or pull your hair out.:p

leader boards are up aswell just noticed so i been readjusting the top times.

How does this play with a wheel ? i could never get along with dirt rally and a wheel setup it always just felt so poorly implemented especially when playing/comparing it to other racing games like AC / Raceroom / Pcars.

it plays fine on a wheel. just like any racing rally game need to adjust your settings to how you want it.some people struggle with this then blame a game.

what wheel do you have ?

I have a T300RS and i have tried varies settings for dirt rally even WRC 6 feels better.

I have ordered the game anyway i just wanted to know if they have improved the way the wheel feels if it's no better i will just use my xbox pad.
