I must be playing a different game to this review as to me it looks awful.... ?
turn off motion blur and advanced blending.
Only had a quick bash so far, but some of the criticism I've read seems somewhat unfounded. Certainly doesn't look bad to me and driving feels pretty good. I have a fair few hours in Dirt Rally, but certainly not a hardcore player. I get the sense if you're a serious hardcore sim rally racer then the added accessibility of Dirt 4 may not work for you though. But then this is a main Dirt title... Dirt Rally 2 is where the serious Dirt Rally fans will need to get their next proper fix, and I think that's quite intentional on Codemasters part.
you have to try all surfaces before judging it.i think wales needs a little more tweaking on gravel and i think they working on getting the handbraking back end of car swinging better as we speak.

Then why did they promise there won't be any compromises regarding handling in sim mode? That's the only reason I got the game in the first place (not a hardcore player either, just enjoyed the challenge), yet 80% of sources now claim it's quite far off from Rally.
It also looks worse, there's no way around it, can't blame it on YT compression as I've watched both games on YT. There are improvements in certain regards but overall it's definitely less visually appealing. Paired with the fact that there are no real rally stages and non-rally content is severely underdeveloped, I really do think I should flog those codes ASAP and grab it when it hits the bargain bin. Dirt 1 had more variety. I'd love to try it but I don't want to lose money.
EDIT: I might be getting too negative as I expected more but I see it's already been pirated so I'll borrow it for a while and experience the handling/stages myself. If I like it within an hour or two, the game gets redeemed, if not, I flog the codes and delete it.

thats even worse than half the people who played for one hr rage quit ran straight to steam forums and starting typing in caps.
just sell the key be done with it.you seem to have made your mind up regardless.

dirt rally was a great game but cars had no weight to them .tarmac was pretty poor.cars now have weight in dirt 4 the tarmac is amazing handling wise.you wont guage the true graphics off videos on youtube or twitch because of the compression.i know i been videoing it all week pulling my hair out because of the stupid compression.
done many top 1 times across all platforms but couldnt upload them because of the compression pixelation in certain views.
the handling if you didn't know in dirt rally was altered aswell.didnt just come out as you like it.so this game will have the same.same as any other game.release game.get feedback.adjust to feedback.

ive not played it myself but just going off the reviews on steam I think I will give it a miss and stick with dirt rally, by the sounds of it has gone backwards in everyway,handling,graphics etc some people are even claiming dirt 3 looks better!
I have seen a couple of reviews also say its not optimized very well compared to dirt and previous rally games?

See I was right to be sceptical then, will still get it but when its around £15.
