Dirt Rally 2.0

I wish seasons wasnt a thing. I just want to buy the game and access everything straight away, especially in a racing game.

I assume then that the "Seasons" content is either :

1, Content they havent finished yet,

2, Content to make you buy the Deluxe edition.

3, 1 & 2

when dirt 1 was made many people complained there wasnt enough events. so this time round more content made. its like no matter what is made you cant please everyone . with how few rally games there are and loads of content should be championed tbh. with even more to be added. looks like its going to be a great few years of rallying.

Lol no. people would be happy with more than 6 locations with 2 tracks in each, charging extra for a few more is really bad.

Most other racing games come with a wealth of tracks , look at pcars 2.

I'd say peoples' complaints are somewhat justified, especially after Dirt 4 which was supposed to be so awesome and "better than Rally". We're just going back from that awful generator to the same six locations with probably two stages per rally and they're removing locations which were in the game previously.

They seem to be going round in circles so far with one step forward and two steps back. At least three new rallies per season is a positive surprise but that's paid content and a snow rally should've been in the base game in the first place.

If I'm mistaken and there are more stages than two per loaction and the game is vastly better than D4, I'm buying everything. If not, I'll just wait till they actually deliver a complete game with all the DLC and get it at a discount.

I'm reserving my enthusiasm till I hear some opinion of normal players who played the game after release, don't want to get burned again.

Its this Deluxe edition model that a lot of companies produce that annoy me. By having it a few days early is like some sort of bonus, where the sceptic in me thinks its additional testing for the proper release date (standard edition). These additional weeks of waiting for cars and tracks is just pointless, just charge me the £60 or whatever to have it all now rather than wait 2 months to have everything. But with this seasons mallarky I have to wait 7 Weeks to drive in Snow ????? Give me a break.

Even so, I will more than likely get this. But i will wait for a week or two because im sure there will be a few tweaks needed for some ffb or physics issues somewhere.

dirt rally had

  • Argolis, Greece.
  • Powys, Wales.
  • Monte Carlo, Monaco.
  • Baumholder, Germany.
  • Jämsä, Finland.
  • Värmland, Sweden.
6 locations.

Dirt rally 2.0 has stock

- Argentina
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Poland
- Spain
- USA

6 locations .

2 tracks in each i think you should go look how many are in each event then access again. infact when you have just mention how many are really in the game. ;)

Yes 2 in each, then cut up and reversed to look like more.
But only 2 unique track in each location, so 12 in total.......very poor.

Wrc 7 tracks and content put it to shame.

Yeah, 3 or 4 stages per location would be respectable but it seems they can't move past that random generator or 6 locations/2 stages limit. We'll see how it pans out, WRC7's locations seem better so far and looks like WRC8 is going to up the ante with more of them.

it does make me chuckle. dirt rally had 6 locations this possibly has 12 or more with dlc added. so double the amount of content over dirt rally 1. there is 50 plus cars maybe topping 60 with extras or things we dont know about.

if you dont know about stages. some if not many are under license. you cant just do this or that. wrc for eg has licenses to cars and events. you cant just add stuff in. the tracks are great they are not random generated. this is the problem with misinformation.

WRC 7 is okay i liked it they have the WRC license . so they can use certain events. under license. same with cars. its a really tricky thing with manufacturers. you cant just add whatever car you want. also certain brands wont let you use there cars. toyota for eg are very hard to get in games yet they have some rally legends. which youd think they would love the promo.

as for WRC 8 i will probably get it but while some things are great others are not and dirt rally 1 is far better than WRC anything.

once any of you try just poland on this you will be hooked. :D . thats only one event.

i think the problem now days is many people cant just have fun in games. instead of looking at minuses in everything just have fun !

Yes but only 12 tracks without buying more content.....It's not enough that's what people are saying.

The best thing surly about making a rally game is you can make any stage you want without licensing so I don't know what you mean by that.

It's not like circuit racing where people want certain real life tracks, people will be happy with made up rally stages as long as they are good and plenty of them.

you seem to be getting confused. 12 events. not tracks. each event has numerous tracks. so plenty of content.double the previous game with dlc. even with the 6 default locations and new tracks you arent even close to how many there is. all new.

no. that was tried with your stage. its great in theory but most people want real locations. like their heros rally or rallied. many of the places in dirt rally are real locations or event split up. as said licensing to events is a very tricky thing.

I think you're overreacting a bit. I will surely have fun in this, just as I had with Rally. However, that doesn't prevent me from having an opinion. I simply don't think two unique stages per rally is enough. It's because I want the game to be the best it can possibly be.

Stage list is the most frequent criticism towards these games for a reason. Everything else was top-notch in Rally. I wish there wasn't so much red tape involved, because we would have probably ended up with a vastly better game had they just released a bunch of DLC for Rally instead of this weird location juggling and ending up with a snow rally as paid content. I understand the licensing problems you're talking about, though.

Yeh i will just leave it at this.

Very much looking forward to the game, when it's got vr and it's bundled with all tracks for cheaper.

Most people's complaints with the first was not enough tracks and with dr2 it looks set to continue that with base content.

Dg you're view on the matter is obviously different as you are involved with it.

im more just curious how more content than dirt 1 is recieved with sketicism. dirt rally as said above many loved it but then moaned we want more events stages. so they give you more for dirt rally 2.0 and its like but its only 2 stages when it isnt :p

anyway not long now...:D

So VR is coming at a later date but will it be exclusive to the Oculus store? If so pointless buying the Steam version unless you want to pay double.
we just dont know at this point. Oculus are apparently paying to get VR in - codies totally ditched us :(.

will the VR game be a separate game - much like skyrim or fallout 4?

or will it be a DLC - if so store locked content?

it may be that like Blazerush all existing steam owners will be given a free oculus store key... we just dont know.....

The only way to be absolutely certain is to buy it on the store front which is investing in VR if you want a 100% chance of getting the VR version.... but then of course steam will lock you out of the multiplayer with other steam users assuming it is a steamworks title.

I am gonna wait and see myself. I have been bitten too many times with Codemasters when it comes to VR.

Well, that's what people are wondering? Are there more than 2 UNIQUE stages per location? If yes, then awesome, if not then the base unique stage count is the same as Rally minus Pikes Peak and no snow unless you buy the season pass. One preview stated it's still around 2 stages per location, that's why I'm unsure.

It is rather annoying at the lack of info. Only a tweet AFAIK. Probably put off buying until more information is available.

You guys make a good point, i say this on the back of the originals VR implementation and presence on steam.

When they announced VR on the first title, they said at the time that Vive support would be forthcoming. You could make the assumption that with no such support for open VR being touted this time, that there very well might be a chance that exclusivity on VR is limited to the Oculus store front. As pointed out, there are steam titles that don't work in VR that have VR enabled on the store versions.

Coidemasters clearly need to tell people which way this is going to go.
