DiRT Rally Hits Steam Early Access

You can make your wheel as light or as heavy, maybe fanatec needed to update thier software for dirt.

What is wrong with fanatec support?
I play dirt Rally with a CSW Base V1, BMW Rim and the V2 Pedals.
After a bit of adjusting i get the perfect immersion with this combined with the HTC Vive.

Most important is adjusting the wheelrange so it is 1:1 to the ingame wheel. Once got that right it seems perfectly fine to me.

yes fanatec stuff works fine. also they got new wheels stuff out soon ;).

fancy some dirt rally today.

Rallycross is harder now they made the Ai faster a few patches ago.so if you haven't played it recently give it a go. on hard settings they can be a challenge. you have to drive well now to win.

think i might go for some RWD fun. :D

I bloody hate Sweden.

Wales in the wet and you just end up skidding into a massive field or smack into some roadside timber... And the courses in wales are mostly gravel and really narrow and reminds me why I don't like driving down country roads in the UK lol

Dirt Rally is a hard game, but I love it.

IMAO, just watched a stage in 1999 Rally Championship on youtube.

If Rally Championship was hard drive with its punishing 25 mile stages, you'll find Dirt a breeze then.

Whats the secound word in your post--->struggling.:p

Biggest challenge in RC was having enough gears left working in your car to make it through to the sixth event! But I loved those long stages like Kershope and Pundershaw and some of those in Wales. At the time graphically it was almost photo realistic too, though on reflection much of it must have been done by clever use of backdrops.

Back to Dirt, as I said getting better at the proper rally stages but just get left behind every time on the circuit event no matter what I try and do - AI just way too powerful for me.

Is a mod required to get the in game wheel to match up with a real wheel? I am considering buying a wheel and pedals just for Dirt Rally :o

I had one before (Logitech G27) but it was way too much of a faff to setup and get working for individual games plus it took up a tonne of room.

What are wheel & pedal combinations recommended for Dirt Rally?

Thanks

Back to some full speed night driving in Finland (on an XBone pad but still very fun)

logitech wheels are very simple to set up in dirt rally.

leave logitech settings at default.turn on centering.then ingame just lower torque alignment to below 50 to what you prefer.set once thats it.

a wheel transforms this game.

+1, a wheel transforms this game.

was doing some greece yesterday for a change from my beloved wales :D

was good fun set a top 5 with the r4 subaru. might do some more later.

Audi Sport Quattro S1 is a Beast and loving it on Pikes Peak> Fullcourse mixed surfaces.

Be smooth and choice your lines correctly or the Beast will smash you.:(

just practice :p

it may seem impossible at first but if you put the time in you will get better. once you start winning and getting regular placing the money you earn shoots up. then your garage becomes full :D

i own all the cars in the game but if you want to drive any car just go to custom and pick any stage any car.

Seriously though, any tips to help me progress (I don't mean driving tips, I mean the game mechanics).

Have you read the game tutorials these may help?

But really you have just got to stick at it drive smoothly at first the less you crash the quicker you learn the stages and your times will go up.
