Personally, I'm just waiting for the 5870x2. My 4870x2 will see me through until then.

As for your suggestion regarding 5 1Tb drives in RAID0, no way I would consider that. If you want to improve data access speed, go for a decent SSD (like the 160Gb intel or the 256Gb crucial), and use this for OS / applications. Then just regular HDDs for storage. No matter how many drives you put in RAID 0 you will never come close to matching the random read / write performance of even a mid-range SSD.

Only 56 replies here... I'm slipping - for months I posted more in the GPU forum than the next 9 people in the top 10 posts put together lol...

Though I do post primarily in the GPU section, 95% of my posts are in here I think.
 
a very small amount of stock will be available on launch guys but, AMD have promised much larger allocations within a month.....and yes i think nVidia will be doing a ghost launch of some kind to try and deflect ATI's glory.
