because 8x is more what someone would use
16x is overkill
Same benchies as before I think... just some totals and stuff added...
I'm still wondering who on earth benches with 8x AF... I can't see the point of using anything other than 0x or 16x... ok visually it might negate some of the patterns on distant objects while still making closer stuff look nicer but for performance comparisons its kinda odd.
I'm talking about AF not FSAA... most of the time theres little point using anything inbetween 0 or 16 for performance comparisons.
So why all the fuss anyway as there is little to no hit.
no fuss, just strikes me odd every time I look at a benchmark done at 8x AF

Maybe because X8 AF is what he likes to use while gaming.
Didn't 8x AF only really cause any noticeable performance loss on GeForce 7/Radeon 19xx and below cards anyway?
Maybe - but it still doesn't make much sense from a benchmarking POV - all you need is 0x and 16x and you know where you stand...
hi i cant find a straight answer anywhere, maybe because no one knows for certs yet but:
-> how much will a 5*** series card cost, are we talking > £300
-> would a 2gb 4890 be a good upgrade from my current gtx 260?
-> when do the 5*** series come to overclockers?
