Dishonored 2

Oh really. Name me all the AAA games (not including 'early access') released in the past 12 months that are in an "unsatisfactory" state in your view.

Just pure hyperbole.

Why last 12 months?

Quantum Break was my main irritant. I wasn't meaning to be dramatic, I just know in the past when a game has very poor performance on release it is usually something fundamentaly wrong with the way the game was coded, and never gets entirely resolved.

To be fair things have got better since the Batman disaster, and most of the games I can think of were made by Ubisoft. Which makes this even more disappointing.

Don't know why you are defending them.

I'm not defending them, but I also deal in reality.

Once games get released to 'retail' and are played on 100,000 different PC's, as opposed to the 20 or so that the developer has for Q&A, then problems are inevitably going to crop up.

If a game isn't performing well within 4 weeks of release, then I think you have a genuine right to be annoyed, but you said:

In my experience when a game is released in this state it is never fixed to a satisfactory level.

When, in my experience from playing the first 2 levels (and the tutorial), the game isn't in much of a state to begin with!

It's hardly Arkham Knight is it?

I think I am having a particularly bad time with it for some reason and I am not used to it. I am usually in the other camp.

Is anyone else experiencing like black lines in between textures, like they are coming apart at the seams?

I have seen one feint white line between textures when you first get out on the roof in Dunwall.

Gsync isnt working for me. Considering Nvidia are backing this its a pretty poor show

Edit- I have it working. It would seem it runs in borderless window by default and by alt+enter'ing out then back in, Gsync becomes enabled!

just change to fullscreen in dishonored options

or go nvidia control panel and change gsync to windowed and fullscreen

a lot of ways of fixing a simple problem!

Its set to fullscreen in the options and it still needs doing regardless. That may be a "simple problem" but some people would not know to do it. Also simply ticking the "fullscreen and windowed" box isnt a fix as you get lower framerates running in borderless

Just as you are not having problems...other people are.

Well I have some sympathy now.

Loaded the game up just now, no changes to my PC at all. Took five times as long to load as before, and is an absolute slideshow when I loaded up my savegame.

It was running perfect yeaterday.

It was like the old days where you accidentally ran a game in software mode instead of glide.

Edit - Switching from full screen to borderless and then back to full screen has magically fixed it. Suggest people with issues give that a try.

I also found that this occurred if I had enabled the option in the G-Sync settings of the Nvidia control panel to run in windowed mode as well as fullscreen.

Disabled that and my slideshow loading issue disappeared.

So do you have GSync set to "Enable G-Sync for full screen mode"?

I can't get the game to run in full screen, I change the setting in the menu, and it keeps reverting back to borderless.

I have just dropped all settings to Low to see if I cant get a good framerate, it stays around 70 but still feels like absolute ****.
