Dishonored 2

Have I missed something or are there no keys for turn left/ turn right ?
I've only played for an hour but turning seems to be by side stepping with strafe and steering with the mouse which I find rather awkward

This has made my year :D

Thank You

But i know what you mean its alien at first but you use the mouse and WASD for movement. The mouse turns the head and the WASD control the body said the wise jedi...never.

Hope the patch does sort this... Game is cheaper on CD Keys and as I enjoyed the first one and its DLC I think I'd like this game. I like stealth games.

TBH I think my 980ti with g sync would be fine anyhow. G Sync helps so much, I don't think I could game without it now : - )

I buckled and purchased it from CD Keys for £29.99 wishing i never now though and paid the extra £10 so i could get a refund as it looks poop.

Ah well add it to the list of games I'm yet to finish in steam!

I'm glad I made your year :D Maybe I didn't explain it properly,
something is weird with the mouse, every game I play I can run & turn fine but this game it won't work properly, I've messed with the mouse settings but it still won't steer properly, it's as though the mouse is set so slow it takes a lot of movement just to turn and nothing seems to alter it

what mouse are u using?

A Razer, just found the the mouse won't work in another game, investigated & found the Razer driver has completely disappeared since I installed Dishonor 2
How weird is that, reinstalled the driver and reloaded Dishonor & it now runs worse than before with stuttering.

But in 2016 a game looking like this is **** poor and I'm not overly fussed on visuals over gameplay.

Yeah I'm not somebody who worries about new games having the very best, but I'm surprised just how bad this looks, especially coupled with how badly it runs for me.

As I can't play this at the moment I fired up Rise of the Tomb Raider instead as I bought that last week, it just looks stunning while running really nicely. I know this may be a poor comparison as the graphic styles are different, but if I can run that well there isn't really an excuse for something looking like this running so badly.

Shame they didn't just stick with the old engine.

Funny you should say that Usher. Installed DH2 also made my xbox wireless adapter stop working and messed up the drivers! Had to restore to get it working again

I have just read its not the unreal engine they went with but another by some name someone else may chime in with it here but its the same engine used in doom albeit an older version. Why they didn't use the updated doom engine idk.

Honestly the days of flat textures are unforgivable in my book bland colours in the game world also are just out of order. I wish i didn't buy this now try as i might i just cant get over how jarring the graphics are its like its ported from a 720p console version its terrible.

Sorry if anyone else is enjoying the game just my 2c

Just played the 3rd level and completed it. No crashes luckily. Switched to controller and I have to say they did a very good job of it. After a while it becomes more enjoyable to play the game vs mouse and keyboard.

It is cool searches for the runes and stuff. Each leve probably couild be done in 10% of the time I spend, as I explore everywhere and do all the side quests :)

It doesn't look great and performance should be much better, but my god the actual game is bloody good!

AA seems to be truly awful in this. Txaa makes it look horrendous. A good Reshade would do wonders for it like it did with the first game (probably one of the best examples of sweetfx improving a game)

Performance hasn't been that bad for me tbh, but then I'm not one that worries about it that much.

Edit - it is so disconcerting to read the list of what you have missed at the end of each mission!

No, but the mouse is working o.k now, another peculiarity has now popped up, playing BF1 I found it ran a lot better and stopped momentary pausing by setting the CPU priority from normal to high in task manager.

Doing the same in D2 it won't stay put and instead of reverting back to normal it goes to the lowest setting

Is stealth a nesessity or can you just shoot everything and not worry about sneaking about? I remember not bothering with stealth on the first one.

I'm killing pretty much everyone I see :D. Better to pick them off one by one rather than run in guns blazing Doom style. I tried that and I just got killed immediately.

Just done chapter 3. Level design is off the charts.

I'm playing as Emily. Took ages to decide at the start. I was probably on that screen for about ten minutes!

Its amazing game. Gameplay is so satisfying and I want to explore every single nook and cranny. Took me about the same as well before I went Emily but I will do a Corvo run through as well
