Dishonored 2

To anyone wondering whether they should pick this up I would say if you enjoyed Dishonoured, you will enjoy this.

Mouse sensitivity scaling with framerate will kill the game for me even though I enjoyed the original :( though wonder if its like Doom where some setups would inexplicably get weird mouse sensitivity with certain resolutions but work fine with other resolutions :|

Played with a mouse and had no issues. Would locking the framerate help?

Yeah, even after I fixed a lot of the mouse issues by playing with the settings, it still was not perfect for me. In the end I just played with a controller which was much better than I thought it would be. Maybe you should consider doing that. Play Corvo with controller and Emily with k&m once they patch the game ;)

Depends a bit on how well you can maintain a given framerate and even then you can get uneven frame pacing which you'll still feel even when rendering a high framerate.

Playing on a controller would kill half the immersion for me - I never get into a game like I do with mouse freelook using one.

I can't play with a pad anymore unless it's extremely basic. It's like playing with someone else's hands. K&M have completely spoiled me :/

It feels strange for a while but then you forget to be honest. The buttons are mapped very well to the 360 controller.

It is either wait for them to fix it or play now with controller now. But I think people are overthinking it, honestly after a very short period of time you are immersed in the game anyway. That was my experience anyway, but maybe I am able to adapt to things easier than others.

Meh, some people can. I have a PS4 and I honestly can't play anything that requires any degree of accuracy.

I certainly don't get used to it - a game like this never feels anything but clunky to me on controller versus all the years of playing on keyboard and mouse however long I play.

Can't believe how many games recently have shipped with issues with mouse sensitivity especially the game design 101 issues like framerate dependency or configuration of X/Y axis if they are independently handled - its inexcusable from any established studio.

I am sure they will fix it soon. Unfortunately you will have to wait until then :(

It is indeed frustrating that so many games lately have been released that probably needed a couple of more month's polishing. That is why people should not pre-order. But I could not help myself and I pre-ordered Resident Evil 7 as it was at a 25% discount recently :p

I've stopped pre-ordering personally - (though occasionally make an exception for certain kickstarter type stuff if it looks promising).

I am pleased with people's reports of how long the game is. Some people might think it a little too short, but games like this can easily outstay their welcome. The first game was spot on, any longer it might have dragged on a bit.

I just killed everyone and everything. I'm not very subtle.

Exactly. In a game like this I like to use my power to wreck havoc! You guys saw that video and the kind of things you can do in Dishonoured games, no way am I going to play stealth when I can do that :D

I think the only games where I actually enjoy stealth or can be bothered are games like Splinter Cell.

Yeah. I hardly ever pre-order. Usually just wait for a sale and pick a game up like that. But I do make the exception for franchises I really like and want to support. I did that with Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and also a few days ago with Resident Evil 7. Not sure I would have done it with Resi though, but could not resist at £22.12 :D

I know what you mean, but I did feel that a few more levels to make use of powers you unlock would have been nice. I suppose you could do multiple playthroughs with Dishonoured 2 though.

If you did not explore much, Dishonoured 2 can probably be completed in less than 8 hours, probably a lot less. There is not much story there.

I like to play stealthy until I'm spotted then I end up going full physco and kill every fool I see anyway :D

Just got this, played it for about 2 hours so far. It’s good but feels like the fps is a bit low sometimes.

At the beginning of each level, alt tab out and set priority to high. Theres a bug which has it set to low and framerate suffers because of it. Also, alt enter twice to get it set to fullscreen as even though it says its fullscreen, its not. Its borderless windowed.

The Royal Conservatory is the first mission I have really tried to go out of my way to do as much as possible. I spent 3 hrs 20 on it.... And missed 2 paintings, 3 achematics 2500 coin and 2 bonecharms!

Another great level.

Despite oddities with K/M performance has been relatively solid at 50FPS @ 4K once I finally got it working ( kept going to a bizarre green screen ). Stuck it on my big tv sat back and used controller as people recommended.

Played through the first level and killed everyone I found, then got to a big boat and gained blink, seems good so far. I never played the first game though.

Itching to play this, but with the ****** performance Im getting there is just no way Im going to ruin it for myself. Can rock along at 60fps, then for no reason at plummet to mid 20s. Fresh install of windows, totally stable system, everything else plays great, just this
