Dishonored 2

Its amazing game. Gameplay is so satisfying and I want to explore every single nook and cranny. Took me about the same as well before I went Emily but I will do a Corvo run through as well

Level design and gameplay is indeed very good. I spent ages on the clockworks level. Managed to find pretty much everything except for a couple of blue prints :)

I went with Corvo for my first playthrough, did not think too much about it really.

Good news is not had any crashes for some time and been just playing it smoothly 4K with a controller. 4K vs 1080p does make quite a bit of difference in this game. Well worth dropping to 40-50fps vs 120+ I got at 1080p.

You get 40-50fps in 4K with 1070 ?

For anyone interested. This sweetfx profile is very very good. Makes the game look a lot better in almost every way.

Be warned though it does knock a fair few frames off. But because the sweetfx profile is so good ive notched the graphics settings down to high to retain the frames while adding the detail sweetfx provides.

Yep. It does dip into 30's sometimes depending on the area, but most of the time I see 40's. My GPU core runs at 2050MHz and Memory at 9200MHz.

Tweaked my settings a bit more. Here you go:

My settings:

Resolution 3840x2160
Adaptive Resolution = 100%
HBAO+ = Off
V-Sync = Off
Texture, Model, Environmental = Ultra
Rest = Very High
Anti-aliasing = TXAA 1x
Depth of Field = Off
Lens Flare = Off
Rat & Bloodfly Shadows = Off
Rest = On

-

Mouse sensitivity = 18
Everything else Off or on 0.

Nvidia panel I settings:

Maximum Pre-rendered Frames = 1
Power Management = Prefer Maximum Performance
V-Sync = Fast

Just done chapter 3. Level design is off the charts.

I'm playing as Emily. Took ages to decide at the start. I was probably on that screen for about ten minutes!

I'm playing as Emily just to hear those girly gasps & squeals :p

In reality I suppose you could replay the whole game again as Corvo and get a completely different experience as their unique abilities are so different.

Would be good if you swap back and forth from Male to Female as you can in Assassins Creed Syndicate

Yeah. For a start, Emily can't stop time, which is a pretty game-changing ability. I do like her decoy-like ability. I haven't unlocked many yet though tbh.

It really is gutting to finish a level thinking you have explored everywhere, then it comes up with(for example) bone charms 4/7, paintings 1/3, coins 200/3000!

Also, I'm definitely going through the game as no powers Emily at some point!

The trick I find is to just play with a controller. I am playing with an xbox 360 controller and having a blast.

Was actually thinking, playing with a controller really helps mask the problems as you don't move the camera so fast. After a while you just get used to it anyway.

When using a mouse ideally in such games you need 60fps, but can get away with 30fps in the same game with a controller :)

Is this worth playing now or waiting for it to be patched up some more and maybe pick up next month on sale?

Some are not having any issues. It's buttery smooth for me but maybe that is to do with g-sync (although my frame rate rarely drops below 60 and when it does, its fine). It does seem to be pot luck though.

i have a few issues here and there but i do play it with a controller.. i did try it with m+kb but it just seemed worse

overall its still playable though, atleast with a controller.. and it wont stop me from continuing my playthrough (started as corvo then switched to emily)

also, i dont like how they changed dark vision or w/e its called... its just harder to spot enemies in certain light now

This is what I do. If the game is demanding I will use a controller as the movement isnt as jarring

Anyone else got blurry graphics? Like everything is not as sharp as it should be. The AA settings do make a difference but everything - especially distant things - look muddy as though I'm playing at a low resolution and not 1080, 1440 or even 2160.

Yep same here, it seems to have some motion blur when sprinting that I can't turn off as well.
