Dissapointed....

Update:

I tried at friends PC, we got display this time.

We ran furmark, no lines.
Games, no lines.

Swapped monitors over
No lines
Swapped cables
No lines

This means it must be the PSU ?

Because if it was the mobo I would get the lines everyhere, on desktop, etc.
Whereas this happens only when the card is uner pressure - power.

not strictly true, since the mobo plays a part in delivering some of the power to the gfx card through the pcie slot.

although yeah psu is the main suspect.

and as stulid says, try ur mates psu in ur system.

Gah I should have brough my entire rig over today then..

Well im guessing if its not the PSU its the mobo, amirite ? Im relieved its not the card at least.

dont look for shortcuts, do it properly. u dont know where the problem is so until you have established a part is working (by using in another pc) you shouldnt rule anything out.

just test in a logical way, u did the gfx and monitor, next would be psu, then cpu, then addon cards etc. unless you actually find a part faulty, u cant assume its something else.

Well in my case its not the monitor and the graphics card cos that works fine at my mates without any artifacting.

Ive now got 2 more possible parts, PSU and mobo.

If I was you (Poster above) I would do the same thing ive personally have done, which is go with ur parts to ur mate and pin the problem down there.

This does raise the question - how come the 2 cards you have sent back already were confirmed as faulty....when, as it looks now, they weren't :p

Maybe they were and im lucky the 3rd time ?
Or someone didnt bother to test...:)

Nevermind though, its good thats its not the GPU at least. PSUs arent that expensive if it turns that PSU is the actual thing I have to replace.

very unlikely..

But that's just it surely mate!? Unlikely but not impossible.. It's unlikely you'll win the lottery in your lifetime, but nearly every wednesday/saturday someone wins it ;) It's very unlikely you'll ever be invited to a bukkake session by a the busty granny next door, but it might just happen.. you get the point ;)

Well anyway, testing the PSU tommorow. ive got a choice between OCZ and Corsair if the PSU is the part thats faulty. What should i get ? i heard corsair is more popular

Tested with his Corsair 850W

Still same thing.
At his house we dont get any lines at all.

So GPU, monitor, cables, PSU is out of the way.

Im gonna die. :/
