Divinity Original Sin

Struggling to get in to this a bit... done as much of the murder quest as I can and any other sides I can do early on but I'm still only level 3 and progressing anything else seems to involve taking on large groups of level 5-8 monsters :/

Probably going to the wrong area, head out the northern western exit (not the beach) and you'll be in with the level 3 skeletons.

There one thing getting on my nerves a bit. I've found only 4 staffs now and I've pretty much completed the first map (team is around lvl 8/9), one of those staffs was a quest item and I gave it back to its rightful owner :(

Also finding a ton of dex based armour and not a lot of strength based. I even sat for 30 minutes loading and reloading the game so I could get different loot from a chest, I must have opened it 30 odd times and still no staff. Sad mages are sad with their crappy staffs. Still love the game though ;)

Amazing how tactics change when you have a pyro mage and every enemy in the combat area is fire based.

Also I only realise a while back that if your putting luck into someone's skills, make sure you get them to open all the chests. at least going by everything else that's how it'll work.

Not sure about this companion personality thing. Pretty much everything I do, my second character disagrees with and I either can't do it, or have to play rock, paper, scissors(seriously!). Plus, just now I tried to recruit an NPC, but my second character didn't want them to join, saying they don't like the look of them. So I initiated the dialogue again, with the same result...then I did it a third time and suddenly get 'I think that's a great idea!"

Does it even matter? I think the only spell affected by your staff is the one that every 'source' get with the purple icon.

Unless your just looking for one with stats if so, ignore above :p

I haven't noticed a spell damage increase from diff staffs just melee.

I think you can turn that off in the options, I don't think I've ever gotten it between my two characters.

Well I know there was an option at the character creation to choose something to do with how agreeable they are. I thought it might be fun to have some arguments occasionally, so I chose random but it is a bit ridiculous tbh. Shall we kill this guy or set him free...Lets play Rock, Paper, Scissors to decide!

Do I have to start again to change personality or can I change it somewhere now?

EDIT- apparently they will be adding more personalities later. they are needed as it is a good idea, but atm you are much better off just sticking with loyal.

Hell no, not melee. Even Druids suck as staff melee! Im hoping for a bit more balance with drops. I've proven to myself that staffs are really rare, and yeah its about the stats :) I'm hoping once I've got stuck into crafting ill be able to add my own stats.

they panned The Witcher when it was released as well if i remember correctly. ;)

To be fair, whilst I really love the witcher(played through it again recently actually), there was a fair bit to criticise when it was released. It had pretty poor translation for a start. I think it was actually pretty shoddy before the enhanced edition imo.
