PC gamers are more vocal when it comes to these kinds of stuff. Console gamers are more vocal about comparing their console of choice with the oppositions, trying to get one up cause their console only drops to 17 fps while the other console drops to 15. At sub 720p resolution that is.
Console players are more tribal than technical, just like iphone users.

Yeah, you can see it on this very thread. A user is trying to convince us how great the ps5 is. Totally ignoring 17 fps at sub 720p resolution. No thanks
Console is good for mindless gaming, PC requires more technical knowledge.
Basically it's supermarket beer VS craft beer.
And this is a minority of ps5 games but more then likely to happen on pc, no to mention bugs and crashes.
By the way, people do upgrade for wow, considering it's holding records for pc box sales
Many tend to play 1-2 series and upgrade for those.
I did in the 1990s, now it's a lot more nuanced for me.

I would say 10 years ago people in PCMR were more technically minded. But is become more and more infected by stupid marketing and it works. The amount of microtransactions and other predatory monetisation policies in modern PC games would never have been accepted 10~15 years ago. Then you have in increasingly rubbish mainstream parts which are just exercises in marketing. AA and Indie games are actually closer to true PC gaming now.
So basically more and more mainstream AAA PC gaming seems to be as mindless as consoles. It relies on mindless people to chuck money at microtransactions,battle passes,etc. It relies on mindless people who have no concept of hardware progression,and who responds to shiny marketing slogans,to sell them less for more.
For the most part its like supermarket own brand beer vs social media influencer marketed "craft beer" which is sold by hype and to maximise profit. These companies jumped on the "craft beer" bandwagon but are highly commercial enterprises. Indie/AA gaming is more like true craft beer as these are personal passion projects,not always made with big profits in mind.

Yes of course it's the minority. It's always the minority. Forspoken run like crap also, at sub 720p. That was the minority too. I can mention 50 games with literal game breaking bugs or poor performance and you'll call them the minority. Please, you already have made up your mind based on 0 evidence, so I don't think me using evidence will change your biased opinion.
Just because it's holding record sales, how does that relate to people upgrading for wow? Why would you buy a new gpu to play wow when it can be played with your 5 year old one? I'm not following you. Do people also upgrade gpus for lol dota and cs go?

I agree with you completely. PC gaming becomes more mildness by the minute. Especially when people diss on DLSS, it's mind boggling.

Then you haven't looked into wow at all then, it has an options menu that users can only dream of in their broken cyberpunk etc games

The older PC exclusive games had an insane amount of customisation options for graphics and keyboard settings!
I don't think so any more,beyond people who post on technical forums like here.
Many seem to not look at what they buy or look at specs. A lot seem very brand conscious.

Wow actually looks very good too these days.
I wonder if bencher thinks the game looks like it was in vanilla or something.

I've played the new expansion a lot actually, and I also played classic, both lich king and bc. But let me assure you, I did not upgrade from a 3090 to a 4090 to play wow. I did not even upgrade from my 1080ti to a 3090 to play wow. It worked great with my older cards.
Cyberpunk > wow. No idea the heck you are even talking about.
And regarding broken games,the vast majority of broken pc games are also broken on consoles. That is just a fact. Of course there are also games that are only broken on consoles, like wink wink a couple of Bethesda games that just... Deleted all your save files one day out of the blue.

Really! I didn't hear about that one. "All your save files belong to us!" How did that get rectified by Bethesda, or did it not?

After your save files were deleted, they issued a patch that it made it stop deleting them! Not very helpful I guess but hey, it's the exception of course.
Lots of bugs and poor performance games on consoles, you just won't hear about them mostly cause tribalism. Console gamers are trying to convince you how better optimized the games are over there. They arent

Interesting then you know that dragon flight looks amazing and has loads of settings such as easy tracing, real AA, render scale.
Alpha effects etc because a 1080 will obviously run all of that in open world events and raiding.
Cyber punk still looks trash and broken.
Yet any pc game I play has some issue, get it on console and no problem

Personal anecdotal evidence don't mean much. I could just as easily claim the opposite, any console game I play has issues, get it on pc on problems. The fact of the matter is both have plenty of broken games. Even console exclusive games are broken. As a matter of fact, there are more console games crashing to the os screen than there are on pc. Sad but true. Os updates crashing and having to restart the console and start downloading them over again? Check. Game updates refusing to install until you restart the console 6 times? Check. Buggy games that crash to the os? Check. I mean come on...
