Do you flash, or expect to be flashed in warning of mobile speed cameras?

There's no proof that anyone on the receiving end of the flashing is an offender.

Indeed, but the person flashing their headlights potentially is.

This doesn't answer my question of why you think police forces are only concerned with revenue collection.

This is the same for me. Standard places that everyone expects them and slows accordingly.

yeah, i suppose tbf it works, there's a section of dual carriageway near me that goes to 40 on the overpass through the town, and nobody local speeds there because we all know full well it's a favourite haunt of the camera van, which i guess is mission accomplished for the police.

round here the general way it works is they're lazy at enforcing but if they are going to book you don't expect mercy.

Potentially - yes. I agree. But unless you can prove the car they are flashing at is speeding, there is no "course of justice" to "pervert".

Because the only reason to care about motorists warning each other is that it interferes with their ability to generate said revenue?

Because you almost never see speed traps on sections of road there speeding might actually be "dangerous".

The places where you see them are, at worst, where speeding might be regarded as a nuisance, but even there. Typically you only see them on sections of road where (for whatever reason... ;) ) the posted limit is significantly lower than what the natural, free flowing, 85%ile speed would have been.

I have flashed on dual carriageways but I've not done it on local urban 30 mph roads. Come to think of it I've never seen a police van on the urban roads they are always on dual carriageways looking for easy prey.

I have been flashed and have not been flashed in equal number. If someone does it I tend to know what it means quickly enough now but didn't at first.

I used to in both car & truck but these days I don't.

I don't speed in the truck (paid by the hour) and only really hoof it in the car at night when the buggers aren't about anyway.

How are people reporting on Waze whilst they're driving?

You can tap the hazard icon and it'll save that location then fill in the details once you've come to a stop / destination. No doubt some people will select the options whilst still driving unless a passenger in the vehicle.

Only a swine doesn't flash to warn. Camera vans are a scam and frankly flashing saves lots of heartache...

And the idea of being pulled over. Just LOL.

yes i agree, i always flash too, cameras are a scam............if you're speeding and you get caught it's up to you, but i'm damned if i'm going to let another driver get caught too........the trouble is cameras are located in places they shouldn't.

you tell me why there's a speed limit on a straight peace of road that can handle 50 mph easily, but the speed limit is set at only 30mph...... it's just plain annoying.

the most dangerous drivers i know are OAPs who clearly cant drive, but do the Police do anything about it...............no !

Always report them ****ers on Waze in NL.

In Poland I flash people and expect people to flash, in NL in built-up areas I usually don't flash as the greedy buggers fine people for that (moto copper usually lurking a bit further down), but wave my arm in ''slow down'' fashion.

Any 1 less fine is a win against those retarded speed limits and tax collection scemes. Especially on the motorways or access controlled roads, people who want the speed limits there are idiots imho, you cannot tell people how fast/slow to live their lives, motorways and other access controlled roads are by far the safest roads out there... The roads have been safe enough 2 decades ago and justifying such a impairment of freedom is stupid.

SPEED cameras on the Britain’s motorways may be permanently switched-on in an unashamed police bid to fleece motorists and patch-up swingeing Government cuts to police force budgets.......... Senior police offers have admitted to to this. it's the same with local council CCTV and illegal parking as well.

unfortunately the Labour party is screwed up and hard over to the Left, so we cant vote for them, so we're stuck with the Tories for years yet
