Do you Shift or Lock?

I'm surprised by the number of people who obviously haven't heard of dIRE sTRAITS. :p

Yes, it is correctly written like that, at least on one album. :)

I use a mixture of both of I'm being honest. I sometimes touch type and sometimes I look at the keyboard. Ho hum.

Just to note, some of the "old school" people learnt to type on keyboards that featured a "Shift Lock" key as well. So maybe that's why some people use the caps lock?

Caps - I work in IT so its not through lack of proficiency.
Just picked up a bad habit when I first got a PC and now I CBA to correct it.

(Although I did type this post with shift to see if I could still type fluently.
Took much longer than normal)

I tend to use shift most of the time, even if I'm typing out a few words in capital letters, I still tend to use the shift button, just habit now. Only tend to use the caps button in games, where it actually serves a purpoise or bringing up some menu or something :)

shift. because i thought caps lock was for something else when i was first 'learning' about computers..

Shift, unless it's more than just a couple of letters. The only people I know who use caps lock for one letter are ones who also type with one finger.

Thinking about I literally never use CAPS LOCK AT ALL IT IS SO MUCH EASIER TO JUST hold shift down for the entirety of whatever IM WRITING, UNLESS IT'S WHOLE PARAGRAPHS WORTH of caps text.

People THAT USE CAPS LOCK ARE mental. fact.

I use the CAPS LOCK and yes some would call me mental. I remember being told by friends to stop doing it when I was a child, but it was already too late.

I use the shift key, mainly the one just below the enter key because it's just so convienient for your little finger to press it while you type whatever you want. I very rarely use the cap lock button unless i'm typing a very large sentence in uppercase.

Always used caps lock until my headmaster told me in year 7 "Use the shift button, its a lot more quicker and efficient and if you forget the caps lock is off you will waste time" me:  after he showed me I tried it a few times and well, it is better :)
I can touch type so theres no worry if I leave the caps lock on when I WANT TO TYPE LIKE IM COOL and you can change work from caps to normal in programs like word ~ so always back ups!
