@4K8KW10 wasn't BF4 & Project Cars were we had videos with the NV producing worse quality than the AMD at the same locations with the same settings?
True the FPS were higher on the NV card (Titan X if remember correctly against FuryX) but quality was down few notches with crushed blacks and less LOS also.

@Gregster, your BF4 video is down mate. :/

Can you link to the videos?

This is my impression. My 1070 is cool and fast buy I don't think the image quality is as good as my 7970's. That's purely subjective of course.

Switched from 1080Ti to Vega and I can see the difference in the game I play mostly, WOT. And if compared to my laptop 1060 the difference is there on same top settings.

If article is true and Nvidia moves Gameworks SDK features from CUDA to Tensor cores, given the cost the latter involves, I foresee "exclusive" to Titan price level game features, if you do not want crippled performance.... Just because "Greed is eternal". (Rule of Acquisition 10)

To realise what that means a similar example.

Actually, RX Vega 64 being 20-30% slower than GTX 1080Ti falls just in line with the historical difference between their top cards.
This said, Vega is not worse than HD 7970 GHz Ed. (vs GTX 680 and GTX 780), for instance:

You got the wrong end of the stick. This means that tensor cores are coming to the Turing GPUs from entry level upwards. This was basically confirmed anyway with Nvidia DX raytracing announced in several games that is accelerated with Tensor Cores. They used the TitanV as that is the only publicly released GPU that has tensor cores.

The 1150 and 1160 etc. Will see similar speed benefits

The in game frame rate didn't add up to the frame drops in the video. This looks more like a recording error than a gameplay issue. They was some nasty drops there where the FPS should have been in single digits yet the fps on screen showed 50/60fps

My German is not as good as it should be, but this is more or less what I understand. There were problems with recording.

What I don't get is the interest in an early alpha game without any optimizations or game ready drivers.

Because it show one side far ahead of the other, which doesn't happen too often, normally both sides are reasonably close in performance. I expect that will be the case again once this game actually releases.

That was my point earlier, it just did not look right because it looked more like 20FPS with severe stuttering that should have like you said shown single digit FPS. I think it was a lot of dropped frames with the recording software tbh rather than a representation of the cards performance.

a bit of an odd move tho publishing a "performance" video comparing the 2 cards, that is completely borked because of the recording made.

surely if you are the sort who wants to make such a video, you actually do a trial run with the software you are using the make the recording 1st ***

*** no offence meant if somone here made the video ;)

Yea true, or even watch back the video if you recorded it? It's like read proofing something when you wrote something substantial. Same principle, you would look over your work and realise when something isn't right. But then again it might of been done in a rush to get something out before others to get views.
