Doctor Who

AAAAAAhahahahahah! Well, have you actually watched it yet?
Actually I haven't :p I downloaded it last week but just never got around to seeing it. I did watch last nights episode earlier today and enjoyed it - mainly because I thought Clara was really enjoyable to watch...well her outfits were. Can't stand Sgt.Pink though as I find him dire to watch.

Haha! It is lovely having a bit of sex appeal in a fun show. They've picked some splendid companions throughout and I'm glad the recent wave of removing male appeal in media hasn't infected this show.

Ah so that's where the policeman came from! He had completely slipped my memory and at the end I thought they were giving teasers for the next show only to see the real teaser. Thanks Daz.

I thought the last episode was awful:

Robot was meant to be real badass planet destroyer, but looked cheap and nasty and couldn't even kill a running girl.

Pink - i didn't mind him as a character to start with, the Dr hates 'mindless' soldiers, so a squaddie with a brain has potential, but God last episode Pink whined like a biatch!!

And the Dr? I found him rude and arrogant, not charming. He really was a nasty piece of work. Last week when he was yelling, "Shuttey uppy" i thought was funny, but for some reason this time he had real venom when saying it in Pinks face - i cringed at that!

We wanted dark and instead we got a racist:
- immediately thought Clara was dating the white gentleman
- absolute disapproval when he realised it was a black man
- can't fathom how a black man could be a maths teacher

Disgusting... :p

This series peaked with Listen for me so far, it was a return to traditional Who values, and very well done despite timey wimey wibbly wobbly bits such as clara grabbing the Doc's leg under the bed.

This week was trousers, cheap bot that looked like metal Mickey's retarded cousin Tommy Tin snips, Pink is annoying, the whole interplay with him and the Doc battling over Clara was weak.

I enjoyed seeing the Doc lose his rag, again it's in his nature Eccleston,Tenant, Smith and even going back to the likes of Pertwee,Baker etc the Doc has displayed frustration with bureaucracy.

Dump Pink and Clara, Capaldi is a strong enough actor to go it alone for a series, would be refreshing to see him just being the doctor and not fannying about helping out his sidekicks.

Know what? I agree with this!

He's a brilliant Doctor and constantly having to look out for / explain to / save the sidekicks etc., does hold it back, it would be interesting to see what happens if he's let loose on the universe on his own.

Oh and whoever designed that naff robot had definitely played Fallout 3. I wish they wouldn't build up everything to be a planet destroyer and then the promised buildup doesn't match the reveal.

Anyway, Fallout 3 sentry bot.

Schoolgirl totally unnecessary, still do not understand why she was used.
Clara telling the doctor to go away is a good thing.
Getting to that point very contrived, but otherwise a good moment.

Actually kind of enjoyed that episode. Lot of interesting questions raised. Female astronaut character wasn't very well developed but that's to be expected really. Kind of odd at the start when they were talking about setting up the nukes, i did wonder if the plot was going to be something about the moon giving everyone the mental age of a two year old.

I do agree with the points people have raised about overused tropes in this (and probably the last few) series - the last of a species stuff and the end of universe/planet/life stuff. But the show does seem to be heading in a good direction.

Fertilised (including self fertilised ones) eggs don't gain mass even if they are about the hatch. :)

Still totally racist, it's perfectly ok to kill millions of bacteria to save life (aka spider things), but not one giant animal that had already caused millions of deaths (that the Dr brushed over)? :)

Still the new Doctors have been way to arrogant for someone for a species that has been almost wiped from existence. Acts more like he made the universe rather than made a box (or stole) that can travel in it. :P
