Doctor Who

The "end of the universe" was pictured almost exactly as described in HG Wells' "The Time Machine" (which I only read last week) - the red sky, huge sun on the horizon etc. A nice tribute to the story which kick-started the whole genre!

Finally a good episode. With a ahhh haaaaa moment that I genuinely didn't see coming.

I don't like how its going now the formulae is going its recycling the same type of character over and over with all of the companions they are almost interchangeable in everything but appearance .

I feel like I've been down this road before - can't it be about the doc for once, more like when Timothy Dalton turned up loads they were huge episodes.

It's funny you should say that, as I noticed the new Tardis has a very HG Wells vibe about it.

Both the missus and I were really caught up in that episode, really enjoyed it! We put it on a par with the Vincent van Gogh episode from a couple of series back.

The episodes that trade gimmicks and running about for slow measured story really shine.

I have to say I think the new Doctor is excellent, I think the Tardis is great and I even like the intro, it really feels like they are trying to set a new marker for what Doctor Who should be.
